I know. They didn't even have to intervene personally, all they had to do was tell someone.
What saddens me is that it was going on for 2 hours, and nobody did any thing. In most cases, those 20 witnesses would be stopping it within 3 minutes.

Something similar happend in the mid 70's to a rising actress. She was murdered in front of a building while people in the building just watched. It wasn't a hit-and-run type thing either, this psycho took his time. Heard about this story in a psychology class I took, something to do with people don't feel responsible when others are present. Everyone said the same thing, "I thought someone else was calling the police"
