ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

If you absolutely wanna go turbo, get another F22, turbo pistons, etc etc and build that up, then swap your old heap out. Yea it will cost more, but the point is you want to knock out any potential problems you might encounter before you drive the car. F22s are fucking dirt weed cheap, and pistons cost a little money but won't break the bank I don't think. Get a T3/T4 manifold + properly sized turbo (DSM requires block notching IIRC), get ur intercooling piping made at a shop and u should be good.

H22 is simpler though. Take old motor out, run VTEC wire, do maintenance (t belt, water pump, clean EGRs etc), put new motor in. Might not have the midrange of the turbo F but it also won't have the potential problems.

I bought it this way, because my old car took a crap on me and i only paid 1100 dollars for it. I hate it, its ricey, I get revved at by kids in DA's with Ebay exhaust, and quite frankly I want something clean. My car is AUTO. So im not gonna waste the extra money converting to a 5spd. Theres a stock 93 EX 4 dr 5spd down the street for 1700 im thinking about buying after i get done fixing Ole' optimus prime out there in the front yard. Here are my options, as i have a honda mechanic friend who knows his S**T and will help me learn and do it for free.

            Option 1
OBD1 H Swap = 800/w shipping from tiger japanese (Just motor not including anything else)...Though im not sure what tranny would be good...LSD is a must....doesnt have to come LSD either.

            Option 2
F22 Single cam turbo build. People sleep the hell out of these and ive seen some SICK single cam builds on the cheap.

            Option 3
And you know this was coming....G22 turbo frank. My best friend (the honda mechanic i referred too) has built 2 of these. one 400WHP other unknown I dont even think he's dropped it in anything yet. I think he said with the correct parts it would cost roughly 2500 to build (with good internals, cost of bottom end, head, replacing gaskets and seals, etc etc and so on). Plus cost of transmission.

            Option 4
I drop 6k as a down payment on something newer or buy something newer for 6k. Though im not to fond of car payments and high insurance.

Keep in mind, i would want some rims and full coilovers, exhaust and so on. so it would all have to fit into a 7k budget....Whats your suggestions
keep looking and hope you run across a deal like i did with my gsx i got it for $6500 and it has over 18,000 invested...

Yea... pickin up a DSM, even with their issues, would prob be a better bet than turboing an Accord. I hear they are absolute rattletraps

as for the insurance bid its not much at all the srt4 isnt actually listed under srt its listed under dodge neon which makes it great for insurance.

And the srt can be had for 6 grand or more depending on the year and they take really well to bolt-ons.

cheap is always good! power is the same one way or another, so boost the F! G22 would make your engine bay look better with a dohc head to show off. sleeving the F block is probably worth it.

srt's are nice, but the interior reminds me of a sxt neon, terribly. lol. and last time i drove one the shift knob flew off while snatching gears. lol. however 13.9 for 12.5k low mileage isnt to shabby at all. Im still shopping around and weighing my options. I think im scrapping the accord idea though, good dd's, but when you start to mod them they start falling apart and even when you dont they just get old and you have to repair repair repair. My car's thermostat is bad, so im replacing that. The rotors are bad, the lower tube seals are leaking, both rear window motors are shot, lets see. lol. My steering wheels just began to click while turning it. Its just because the car is getting to old. Hell any car 20 yrs old would do it...its not the car. Its just its time.

A nice car is a dime a dozen. It's the amount of respect you give your car that makes it a GREAT car...and it shows.

I dont see whats so bad about the interior. Its not like you plan on living in it its mainly a performance thing with me so i could care less.

The interior suits me well its not like its a benz. You probably got in the wrong srt4 or maybe the ball on the shifter was modified or worn. Some people mess with those cars you just gotta drive the right one that was done right or not touched at all. The car performs so well its like im dreamin.

It's just a matter of it being an older car. Window motors are $50 brand new. Axles are $75.
I had a 2002 Grand Prix GTP that literally fell apart on me... too much to be worth fixing! It is now gone. The CB7 remains in my drive way (also with bad window motors... But that's just me being lazy!)

The CB isn't perfect. I have a 2009 Fit that I use for work, and I STILL refer to the CB as my "good" car. To me, it just feels right. No other car feels like a part of me.

Well if I was in your position, I would fix any neglected thing on your CB7. Then, I would buy another F22 dirt cheap, and build it for boost. Piece together a kit and set a reasonable goal. Do some research and find out what you like best. As far as the auto, hit up Level10 or swap it to 5 speed. I'm trying some products from them on my 91 EF hatch DSM 14b setup. Remember- You gotta pay to play. Unless your lucky like me and have $3.10 in your entire turbo setup.

Do you want a fast car, or do you want a fast cb7? That's the big question. If a fast car is all you want, then there are easier platforms... The SRT-4 is a perfect example. If you want a fast CB7, there is only one option. Deal with the old car, and make it new again!

Of course, with the CB7, you have the added benefits of OBD1 tuning, dirt cheap and readily available parts, a decent aftermarket (not huge, but decent)... as well as a car that looks nice and rides well (I'd take a CB7 over a Civic for that reason... Civics FEEL like little tissue boxes to me, the CB7 has a more solid feel)
