ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Are you serious? The cop you just described seems like a pretty nice one to me.. How is it out of line for him to ask you what your doing. Hes a cop, Thats what he does

Profiling is their job. And stereotypes are based on statistics. Thats why a teenager in a honda is more likey to get pulled over than a middle aged man in a chrysler. It's also th exact reason i go to court on the 15th for racing with someone when we weren't racing. speeding, sure. 10 over a 45mph. But i was driving my accord and my buddy was driving an integra. naturally since we are neck and neck and loud as shit we're racing.

      Profiling does not = racism

        Some cops

Some cops are dicks, some are cool-most just do their jobs.
I'll be honest, the trooper that got me wasn't a dick, he was cordial, and even joked about the situation. He even gave me a golden ticket.

You screwed up, you got caught, and you're being responsible for your actions. That alone is worth more than the money you're losing.

We're all human. We all screw up (I'm going to court to fight 43 in a 25 next week...)
The difference lies in those that are adult enough to know when to quit... and those that run from responsibility.
I have far more respect for you for pulling over than I would have if you ran.

I'm a police dispatcher and most of the time if the biker stops the cops are amazed lol. Every city is different, but generally we don't chase bikes because it's pointless, they are too quick and chasing them would just risk their lives and lives of others. The few times we actually stop bikes the officers usually ask why they stopped lol

I saw 2 bikers pulled over by 2 cop cars today. Older guys on cruisers.

But yeah, cops generally don't chase... and they won't chase a bike. They won't catch a bike. Even if they do, there's really no way to make a bike stop without seriously hurting the rider.

I assume that the rider could be in for a world of trouble if the officer can get his plate number, though. I knew a guy that was too stupid to look in his rearview mirror... his music was blasting, and he had collected about 3 cruisers as he sped through town. What was only about 45 in a 25 resulted in 6 months house arrest as soon as he crossed the county line. Evading the police is no joke.

man i haven't gotten ticket til i bought a cb, not hating on the cb or anything but i dont know why i get pulled over more driving the cb then the other one, maybe cause its sorta loud and stout when stepping on the gas. i got enough tickets when driving this car i got my license taken away for awhile so the cb will sit in the garage for awhile til i get it back. they even pulled me over for dumb stuff, like the traffic light turned yellow and i let off the gas and roll through the light knowing it didnt turn red, i get pulled over for it while the guy behind me did it also and kept on going. but i dont know what to do fighting it may make me sound retarded cause i wouldn't know how to answer it, but i guess people wont see the cb around for a bit.

The only car I've never gotten a ticket in has been my modified CB!

Hell, I've gotten more speeding tickets in my Fit than any other car... and I've NEVER owned a car with so little power!

i know the feeling man. Some days I just play it cool and drive level-headedly, but other days it just seems like i can't keep the bitch below the speed limit. It's annoying that by 3rd or 4th gear you're usually up to the speed of traffic, even when driving non-aggressively ... it begs you to speed..

When I first got it about a year and a half ago, it was balls to the walls fast... but like you said, I feel like i want a 1000 now.... but when in reality, a 600 is still way fast for what is.

Radio waves travel at the speed of light, same as all electromagnetic waves. The speed is about 300 million metres per second.
                      Hard to outrun a radio...

Maybe you could've gotten away, maybe not but the fact that you did means you still give a damn about the law. You knew you were wrong, you admitted to it, good on you! Unfortunately moral karma tokens don't translate into money to pay for tickets

you did the right thing homie your life is worth more than that $266 dollars. i got pulled on my bike and i will never say all cops are assholes, because i was asses out and the cop let me ride off with tickets. and by assed out i mean i had no license, no insurance, the plat wasnt for that bike, and probably some other shit. but i kept a cool head and wasnt all scared and he just gave me a speeding ticket and operating out of class. instead of revoked license. i could have went to jail for the no insurance or the no license thing. so i was happy to pay a couple tickets off...

Thats funny, I'll just have to sport for an escort, dial in more sensibility and save the urge for track days. i rather not have legal dealings like this anymore.

Yeah, I know the feeling... knowing you COULD have run is frustrating, because then you wouldn't be dealing with this crap.

sry to hear that man. but u did the right thing. u play. u pay. one jan. i was out on the ninja for a short sprint around the block after i did a gearing change. buttoned it up and headed to the back roads. mind u the bike is half put together just enough to ride it. get to the back road and open it up. well i pass a cop sitting out of sight to me WAY to fast threw a 35 (im not proud of the speed so i dont like to list it). by the time i noticed a car speeding up on me i was almost 1/4 mile down the road. and had two choices. ride along like nothing was happening or pin it. because i KNEW it wasnt just some one else on the road. so he got me. 30mins later and he left me go. and to this day i will not speed like that again.

the only thing you did wrong was buying a GSXR........

                              lol just kidding
