ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    R.I.P My CB

well today my dad took the cb out to run an errand and it didn't come back. Some redneck woman went across three lanes of traffic on the wrong side of the road and hit the driver side wheel. I wasn't there and nobody was hurt, but the thing is totaled. I'm not sure how I a starving college student will afford a replacement since the money the insurance company will give me won't be very much. Luckily I haven't put much money in it yet so it wasn't a total loss. But it being my first car and all, I can't help but feel a little sad.

Man, that sucks... I'm glad your dad wasn't hurt though! Cars can be replaced. And CB7s are cheap.

Yeah, she was in pretty good shape so hopefully a get some money for it. I checked NADA and they say one in good condition with my mileage is worth $2300 retail. I paid $500 for it, so I guess that was a steal. I'm pretty sure whatever I get next will be Japanese and I am really leaning towards Hondas. If I can find a good deal I want to try and get a Prelude or Integra this time. But if I get another cb I'll be a happy camper.

you'll get enough from the insurance to get a new CB.

just tell the body shop that you want the car totalled out and they will usually help raise the estimate higher than the car is worth. then once the insurance company sees how much it will cost to repair they will surely cash you out.

i got rear ended in my girls 99 corolla. the blue book for a mint version was about 6500.
this car was far from mint. two accidents and it was on its second engine. probably couldnt have sold it before the wreck for any more than 3000.

we told the body shop to do what they could to total it.

we got almost 7000 for that thing......
