ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

It's been over a year since I stopped and haven't had one since January 08. I went on the patch and it worked really well for me. I smoked for nearly 14 years.

I don't smoke, so my advice can only be minimal. However, when I stopped going green "I'M TALKING ABOUT ENVY " (not environmentally friendly green), I simply told myself NO! When I was near or around it, I just said NO. That was many, many years ago.

I've heard quitting cigarettes is almost as hard as trying to stop smoke crack. I can only imagine how tough that may be. I can say that I saw Danny Glover give Mel Gibson a few raw onions and some doggie biscuits when Danny tried to get Mel to quit. I don't know if that will help.

Both times, it involved finding something else to do. I used to buy cinnamon sticks to chew on, for the oral addiction. The first time around, the nicotine addiction wasn't so bad. The second time around, I smoked for 8 years or so, and that took some doing. Every time I wanted a smoke, (I'd keep a few cigarette butts in a ziplock bag) open that fucker up and take a nice deep breath. You know, they kind of smell like piss if you do that enough. I kept that thought in my mind, along with all of the promises of food tasting better, no more smoke breath, stuff like that. Just have to coach yourself through it.
Same here. I quit smoking during the summer and was completely fine; and then Fall classes resumed...
All of my classes are 3 hours long, so the instructors usually allow a small 10-15 minute break; but after the first week or so, I found myself out there with the rest of the bunch smoking again.
I couldn't stand sitting in the room alone for that time period while everyone else went out to smoke: it felt like it was calling me, and that 10 minutes was meant for me to go out and have a cigarette.
I guess you could say I just have the mechanical addiction because I don't really yearn for nicotine if I don't have it. I think the main reason is because I tried to quit smoking and blazing at the same time.
But hey, I guess it's better than me going out and lighting up a quick bowl like I used to. I would just come back in, put my head down, and wake up when class was over.

Although, in all seriousness, I have found that chewing a piece of regular gum when you feel like you need a cigarette really helps; especially in my case when it's mainly an oral addiction.
The reason I stopped doing that, though, was due to dry sockets from getting my wisdom teeth pulled out; so I switched to eating those wintergreen Icebreaker mints, but I ended up getting addicted to those fuckers cause they taste so damn good!

                    Its not easy

I have smoked on and off all of my life, im 28 and i smoke. I have been for almost a year now after quitting for over 2. I did the cold turkey method. its a bitch, but as many have said alot of it is how well you can hang in there, and how bad you want to quit. Just think about it- smoking is pointless. Its highly unhealthy, very expensive and serves no purpose-not to mention its just not cool like it was in high school anymore . You may think it dose, however its unnecessary. Think about how much you spend on it... Around here my ports cost me 6 bucks a pack, so if you smoke a pack a day that's 42 bucks a week, $168 a month (thats more than my cable, phone and internet combined) and $ 2,190.00 a year...hell I could do a swap for that kind of loot. Thats not even considering the cost of $1.50 a pop bics to spark them up......... and the moment you burn a hole in your clothes- or worse your cb7's interior (we cant have that now) . Sounds like im gonna have to be smoke free in 2010.........
