ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Cops were too slow to catch a drunk driver

So last night me my brother and my girlfriend were headed home from a cousins house about a half hour away from our home and we come up behind a person we were pretty sure was drunk. They swerving from over the center line and over the white line on the shoulder. We called 911 and reported the driver, and continued to follow from a distance. Eventually the guy pulled a u turn onto the shoulder on the other side of the two lane highway, I pulled over on the shoulder the opposite direction a ways away to wait and see what this guy was going to do. We even informed the 911 that he pulled over, this had been at least 5 minutes after initially calling. We sat there for like 5 minutes waiting until he pulled a u turn and came back going the direction I was going. I pulled back out and started to follow again. Once again informed 911 that he was moving again. We followed him until we got into town, I think he knew I was following him and he pulled into a gas station right in town. I kept on going cause I didn't want him to shoot us or something. Just after another block I passed the state patrolman heading out in not much of a hurry. This was about half a mile away from SP head quarters. The patrolman eventually got a hold of us on my cell phone but by that time neither one of us knew where the guy was. This all took place over about 20 minutes and I am pretty sure the guy got away.

Why are the cops so SLOW when you really want them there?

i can't really answer that question but, you could have written down the plate numbers and passed them to the police. sure you'd have to testify as a witness that the person was swurving like a drunkard.

**** I took off hard getting on the freeway on ramp and I saw lights like 4 cars behind me and I knew they were for me. Wen I got pulled over and they were running my plates and hella back up arrived I was like "really!" everything checkout ok and gave me a ticket for accelaration.(good thing they didn't look under the hood) but yea it sucked, were I'm from street racing is unforgiveable!!!!!

Depending on what Cali's DUI law specifics are, I would assume that they would have to see him in the drivers seat. There are no laws saying that you can't be drunk and in your home. How would the police know if you honestly saw him driving and thought that he was possible intoxicated or if he is an old boss or someone that you are trying to get back at or get them hassled by the police. And yes that happens.

I fail to see why you are complaining for YOUR actions that YOU just admitted you were guilty of doing?

Exactly, everyone assumes just because the police did not respond full lights and siren, that they are just sitting around doing nothing but eating donuts.

Recently I have been getting some police attention also. I can't figure out if it is my exhaust, minimal drop or that I am rolling on steelies now. I always have at least one of my scanners with me and I have heard my tag ran twice in the past week. Since I have taken my hubcaps off for the winter, I have had my tag ran 3 times, and they have been off for less than a month. I very seldom have had my plates ran when I had my hubcaps on, and I have had the same exhaust for 4 years. I don't mind being I have nothing to hide and try not to give them the reasonable su****ion that they need to stop me. Haven't been stopped in 3 years.

EDIT: What happend that I cant post the word s-u-s-p-i-c-i-o-n?

You guys are probably right he was probably coming off another call or something, but I live in a small town in oregon where not much happens on the highways. So I figured he would be there a little quicker. It was like 15 to 20 minutes after we initially called. I was just annoyed because I was trying to do the right thing and wanted the guy off the road if he was intoxicated, and I am pretty sure he didn't get caught.

I added some filters for offensive words. One of them happens to be in the middle of that one. One of the downsides of the filter!

Yeah, thats what people seem to think usually. There isn't really many calls that officers go code (lights+sirens) other then stuff like major accidents with injuries, assaults in progress, robberies in progress, sexual assault in progress, and suicides and a few others.

Most people think they they are the center of the universe when they call 911 when its not even something life threatening..(not saying a drunk driver isn't because obviously he/she is a hazard to other drivers) just saying in general
