Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Is my mechanic jacking up my inspection?

    This is starting to get a bit ridiculous. Thanks to ya'll I finally have the exhaust problem solved. I fixed the coolant leak, figured out why it was dripping oil, replaced some of the hoses and wires, yada yada yada. Guess what? It failed inspection again! Among other issues was "window rises crooked". It goes down... it goes up... it seals... whats the big freaking issue? Is this an actual flag or am I being taken for a ride here? I don't see why he'd do this (I'm not paying the shop anything for re-inspectoins, I do the work myself and with friends) and he's been pretty straight to me on my previous vehicles... or is this just someone who has an attentiveness to detail that's a pain in the ass?

      Did he tell you why you failed??

      Your window is probably just off track, take off the door panel and check it out.

        What state is it in. As long as it rolls down you should be fine. Windows, coolent leaks, oil, hoses, etc are bs reasons to fail someone.
        In most states you can go to a third party station if you do not agree with what he is saying.

          Thankfully, problem solved. The main guy went home, and one of the other guys who works there said "I lubed up the track, it works fine, it's passed". Thank God. I was about to blow a gasket and kirk out on the main mechanic.

            And I just saw another note... another "fail point" which the other mechanic ignored was a HOLE IN THE SHIFTER BOOT. Seriously?

                    Maryland. And amazingly enough he didn't ding me on the tires which he should have; they were thin as anything (I had new ones put on anyway).

                      maryland hmm i will remember to never move there. florida is so easy going when it comes to inspections.........there isn't any. the green folks would hate me when i only had a 5' downpipe nothing else

                          some of the stations here are very anal . they was getting busted for selling stickers . the basic inspection is usually like $69. man they find shit you'll never would think of i'll try to find an list for md . mine failed for the shifter strip {auto}didnt move ,when you pulled it outa drive .

                              $69 each year? Damn, that is high as a kite.

                              Safety only in NC (OBD-I and older, all diesels) is under $10. Emissions for anything (OBD-II) is $30.
