Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    18 year old car blues...

    My accord wont start. Got spark, got fuel, timing seems ok, swapped the ignitor. fucker still wont start. 240sx sprung a leak at the front main seal so its not going anywhere either. So I got no ride, I burned my arm, I'm stuck home with my 7mth old son with no car. I'm going to lose my mind.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on the cb7?

    check the main relay... mine did something like that before, had to put in a new main relay :S i donno if that would be your problem but its worth looking at i guess

      The main relay controls the fuel pump. If he has fuel, that's working.


      You're absolutely POSITIVE that you have fuel and spark? Does the car crank?

      Try a jumpstart. Or a push start. Also, try cleaning your battery cables, terminals, and grounds THOROUGHLY. I spent $300 on a new battery and starter one day, just to discover that the problem was corrosion on my battery cables.

        thanks deev I'm sure I have spark, and the plugs were soaked with gas when I pulled em'. Had to try and jump it cause the battery died from cranking it so much. tomorrow I'll try to clean the terminals but I think they looked good last time I checked. I'll keep y'all posted.

          try putting new plugs in, or take a torch and quickly burn away the gas that was on the plugs... that may or may not do it for ya

            thanks But I noticed the gas while I was putting in new plugs.

              and that didn't do it huh? my sisters elantra had that problem, she soaked the plugs in gas, so i cleaned them off and put them back in and it started right up.

              (it cranked and cranked before and there was fuel and spark)

                are you SURE your timing is correct? I was off 3 teeth after I did a head gasket on my car, and it just cranked and cranked to no end. I didn't hit any valves or anything either. Then I correctly tensioned the belt and slid the Tbelt on the correct tooth of the cam gear, and it started right up.

                  I dont really know how to check the timing with the motor in the car. today I pulled the dizzy. when I took off the cap I noticed that the spring coming from the top of the coil was bent over an all burnt looking, so I got a new cap and went to the jy and aquired three different coils just in case one was bad. swapped them all in and got nothing. I'm so fu@#$ng stressed right now I could cry. I havent been working, since I deliver pizza no car = no money. I'm broke, I'm tired and wet from working on my car in a thunder storm for the last hour and a half and the fucker still won't start.
                  How would it jump time if I havent touched anything?
                  I'm just so damn sick of dealing with all this stress. I feel so alone. I miss my car. I thought we had something, something special, but it was all a lie. I guess tomorrow I'm gonna start tearing the blown motor out of my 92. So maybe in a couple days I can go back to work again. Sorry if I'm bringin' you guys down. I just dont know what else to do.
