ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

Legend runs on Chocolate milk! no...

Hey guys, I was out in Wickenburg and found a guy selling a 92 4 Door Legend for $600.

    - Just past 150k miles.
    - White, little to no body damage.
    - Tan leather interior (headrests need replacement, I'd gut the leather seats anyway.)
    - Supercharged.
    - Engine pretty clean.

    I don't know for sure but I think it's a 3.2 Liter.

The bad part.. Coolant has made it's way into the transmission, and or the transmission fluid has mingled with the coolant and leaks out in copious amounts when started.

I have pics, but my friend still has my microSD card and I cannot find my bluetooth hub.

The car started and ran ok and I have a video of it (on my phone.. lol).

I'm almost positive I can talk him down below $500.

If nothing else I can gut the brakes and resell the rest of it.

What do you guys think? Is this fixable? Think it's just a coolant line or transmission cooler, or does the transmission fluid run through a separate compartment in the radiator?

    Thanks guys!

probably a seperate compartment and broke so it combined the two. i thought it was engine oil and coolant, that wouldnt be any good.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

Well it was leaking out of the back portion of the engine compartment. About a gallon came out in 2-3 minutes.

I kneeled down and could smell the coolant for sure. It was light brown, and opaque. It really looked like chocolate milk, or even mud. It didn't smell like oil, you know how oil smells completely different than transmission fluid (automatic).

Could it be that a seal ruptured due to the large amount of fluid introduced into the transmission.. OR, a breather hose, or a coolant line?

The engine compartment is really full.. lol

check both the coolant and the tranny oil and you'll find out. but excessive amounts of fluid would eventually blow seals.

do you have pics of this so called "supercharger"?

edit: sounds like this legend has a nice little blown head gasket, thats not chocolate milk it's oil. although for a few grand you could swap in a c35 from an rl and be ready to go.

also you should post this up in at http://www.acura-legend.com/ you'd get more precise info about it.

              shenanigans on the superdupercharger.

sounds to me like a blown head gasket and/or cracked head/block.

Compression test and a leak down test would be a good start.

Dude, 500 for a supercharged legend is'nt bad, Even if its really f-ed up. Ive read about the legend, and aparently they are near impossible to turbocharge. I would spend 500 on an Accord with 250K on an auto trans if i could find one. Look at the engine, the supercharger alone it worth a couple hundred If its really there. Then you get a Legend for 300 bucks.

                  Leaky Rad

Which means you have Trans oil and coolant in your engine coolant and trans sweet!

I do but like I said earlier (not the supercharger) my pics are on my phone and I don't have a way to get them to the PC at the moment.

I meant to insert next to the 'supercharged' comment that I think it was the guy's stupidity in confusing the cold air box (factory) as a supercharger.. hehe

If it helps any, it's the 3.2L Type II engine.

I've been lurking on the acura forums, will register and put up some info there too.

                    Thanks guys!

if worst comes out you can always buy a new motor and tranny and I dont think demand is too high so you could get it cheap.

haha... Well the way the economy is going, gas has finally surpassed per gallon price over chocolate milk.

Now if we can figure out a way to make PBR or Molson an acceptable replacement for gasoline!

My other option for this car is to gut the brake setup and put it on my cb7, then put it on craigslist.

I'd feel bad though, seems like fixing the leak wouldn't kill me, and I'd have a pretty nice ride afterward. I'm not a huge fan of the 2 doors, though.
