ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

dude. i'd save it. but 1k wont get you boosted. it will get you a 5 speed swap, though.

CF hoods are kinda pricey, and i dont think you'll be able to get wheels on top of that.

    *edit*

a list of mods you have, and what you want do to your car would help.

5 speed swap, exhaust, CF hood.

all should be about $500, so just pick the two that you would like best.

honestly, i'm doing the 5 speed swap and exhaust this summer on my 240, so those are the two i'd choose. and unless your stock hood is damaged, then you dont really NEED a CF hood. just my $.02

auto turbo on an accord is lame, and just asking for tranny trouble. accord auto trannys are inherently weak.

also, scrimping on a turbo isn't a good idea. with only 1,000 to spend, you're going to end up cutting corners, and try and tune it without a wideband, or get injectors that are too small, or skimp on the tune. all will lead to a blown motor, and money wasted.

plus, you dont want a turbo setup on a stock exhaust car anyways.

one thing. dont order the hood until you get all your 5 speed parts lined up. you really need to shop around and make sure you get all the parts for less than you want to spend.

honestly, you might look into getting a beat up 5 speed accord with a blown motor or something like that. i bet you can find a steal, and then you wouldn't have to hunt down any parts, and you'd have everything right there.

not hard to do it yourself, BUT you're gonna need an engine hoist, and some specialty tools.

you will need more than just the transmission. i'd search here on the forums for the auto->manual swap thread. that will tell you all that you need.

the swap for the 5 sped u dont nee da hoist u can just puit the car on jackstands and do it that way lol ... it will work and most of the people who have done it said thats the easiest way u just have to move the center bar.. thats how i took apart the car i got all of my 5 speed parts seeing as the jy doesnt just give u a hoist for free 20 bucks to rent it f that lol

do you really think it would be easier to drop it out the bottom after pulling apart the whole front of the car?
i dont think so. not to mention you dont have something holding up the weight of the tranny, and that's just asking to either get hurt, or break something.

i dont know for sure about this, but i dont think you'll be able to easily remove the tranny off of the crankshaft, cause the motor's not gonna move but a tiny tiny bit, even if you loosen the motor mounts, cause the motor's gonna hit the inner fender near the strut brace.

it'll be a lot easier and more practical to just pull the motor. you can easily get to the clutch, and, while the motor is out, you could change the timing belt, too.
