ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Drove a Skyline

Drove an R32 Skyline. The white one furthest away from my car.
Right hand drive took me a good 20 minutes to get used to. After that I was powering through small industrial streets like a champ. I love the feeling of a boosted 4 wheel drive. When you give 'er, it torque steers like crazy, and it goes a little sideways while still driving in a straight line. So much different from my FWD CB7. The fun-to-drive factor on this car is incredible!
It's all stock, so it's nothing too crazy. According to the owner, it does mid 13's. My H22 pulled off a 13.9 @ 106mph. So I guess I wouldn't be too far behind.

All the Skylines pictured, and lots of others are for sale. Starting from $13,000 CDN and up. Located in Toronto, Canada. Wanna get your hands on one?? Now I know the guy who imports them. He only does business between Japan and Canada, so if you want to import one from Canada into the US, I dunno.. you might have to pay some registry/import fees.

I still love my left hand drive CB7 more than anything! Even if I ever bought an R34, I'd still keep my CB!! CB7 for life!

My CB7 is now ***FOR SALE***

This was still in the summer. But since I'm a slacker, I only get around to posting... MUCH MUCH Later. Heheh

Just a built head on the "twotwo". Crower Stage 2 cams. Supertech valve springs and ratainers.

All the useless stuff removed from the car, like A/C, ABS, back seat, etc. LOL!

Custom traction bar instead of the subframe, and some sticky AZENIS tires. That's my setup.

My CB7 is now ***FOR SALE***

Skylines are overrated. A Subby STI could smoke the shit out of a skyline... (maybe not the AWD TTi6, but you cant even get those here) They loook good, they perform well, but i know alot of shit that can smoke them.... for the 69G's you paid for one new, you shoulda saved a bit more, and got something like an NSX... bit more, but well worth it.

It took me about 10 minutes to get use to driving my rhd teg when I first drove it. It sucks that it is stored now for winter. Damn, I need to move down south. haha

                    rhd ftw!!!

You can get the Skyline GTR in the US as easily as any other model... they're ALL difficult to import, and very expensive to modify. A $5000 car would cost you well over $20,000 when all is said and done.

Bone stock, Skyline GTRs should run low-14s to high 13s. They aren't insanely fast straight line cars, and they are fairly heavy. They can be modified to make TONS of power, though... 1000hp on an RB26DETT isn't too difficult. Easier than 1000hp from an STi.

Also, the NSX is a totally different animal. Stock for stock, the comparatively lightweight NSX would rip the GTR a new one in a straight line, and potentially on a road course. It wouldn't take much to make a GTR competitive, though... or superior. For the price of a new NSX, a GTR of the same year would cost a bit less (Japanese pricing, obviously... and historically speaking, since neither can be purchased new anymore). The GTR could be made considerably faster than the NSX with the balance of that money.

It didn't earn the name "Godzilla" for nothing!

Also, the NSX is a pure sportscar. The GTR is based on the Skyline, which is a mid-level luxury car. The Skyline isn't much more than a RWD Maxima.

Yeah, but skylines get chicks! LOL

I dunno why, but I'd personally take the Skyline over any NSX, any day of the week.

I like the newer Skylines though, the body style ^^^ is ugly in my opinion.

The newer Skylines (our G35, and probably G37) are based on the Z platform, which offends me. The new GT-R is not a Skyline, which also offends me

I like the Skyline through the R34. Even the 80s models are interesting to me. If I ever get rich, I want a Skyline from every generation (at least R30-R34).

I'd take a Skyline over an NSX, but not because it's superior in terms of performance... I like the overall styling of the Skyline, and the fact that it's not a purpose-built sports car. I'd like an NSX just fine though!

When I was in Japan, I went to a supermarket. Parked right in front of us was an R33 Sedan Skyline. I felt that thing up so I can come back to the states and say "I touched a Skyline! You didnt'!" Everyone that day thought I was so weird.

I like the R32 and R33 but the R34 is a bit bulky for me.
