ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    93 Accord EX Project

Hey guys, just picked up a new project car a few weeks ago. I previously owned a 96 Accord LX that I eventually got a great offer for. A few months later I decided to get this and start a new project.

    Motor:
    •Stock H23a1
    •Cheap Intake

    Tranny:
    Stock Accord Ex Tranny
    Stock clutch, fly wheel, etc.

    Interior:
    BB4 Prelude front seats
No radio, speakers, or anything fun.
    Sunroof

    Future Plans:
Fully built and boosted G22 swap with LSD f20b tranny

Battle green, or midnight blue paint (Green and silver flakes)

    White deep dish rims

    Tein coilovers

    2.5 inch full magnaflow exhaust

My main goal is to have a fully functional race car, while still being able to be driven on the street whenever I get the desire to.

Instead of swapping in an engine that uses a head/block combination that doesn't even fit together well, why not put an H22A head on the current H23A1 block? The oil drains line up the same and the bore is the same as the diameter of the H22A combustion chamber.

I've considered that. I was actually going to slap an h22a head on mine around spring time. I'd rather boost with not much to worry about, and after looking at different forums and builds on YouTube I love the G swap. It's unique, and people have gotten great numbers from them.

It is anything but unique. Doing things the right way is unique these days.

What about the f20b to f23 block? Then again I'm sure a full f20b build by itself would be smarter than combining the two. Only reason I all is because I have friends that have crazy builds. H2B, LSV, B20V, K24/K20, so instantly combining motors is something that's normal to see for me. I'm sure putting a h22a head on my motor would be the easiest, way though.

I'm not saying that the simple act of "combining motors" is a bad thing. I've done it myself to achieve a stroked F20B. However, the H22A head on the F22A/F23A block is one that has a lot of issues with the mating surface. These are some that people have ignored and made "fixes" for in the past, but you have an H23A1 block in the car already so there is zero point whatsoever. You would lose the perfect matching of the cylinder head to block and you would lose .1L of displacement. You would also drop compression.

Read this. You sound like someone who has just heard about people getting a tiny chubby for this combination and you think it makes sense for you. It didn't really before and it certainly doesn't now if you've got an H23A1 block.

Haha do you really? Small world. But I paid $800. Everything worked perfectly fine when I drove it, no issues at all. On the way home it died, and got impounded. From there it's been getting basic maintenance. Still can't fix the freakin' idle issue though.

Yeah, I've seen that post before. I see where everyone's coming from though. Basically don't be stupid and do a hybrid that'll most likely crap the bed compared to just building on top of the foundation I already have.
