ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Opinions on wheels?

Hey I go on this site often just going back and forth, everyone on this site knows what looks good on our cars so why not ask

Right now i have spacers in the front and the rear not sure what size, on 205/60/15's

    The rims I'm looking at are 17x7.5 +40 or 17x8 +35

Which wheels to you think would look good on my car, and what size tires are good?

    225/40/17? 215/40/17? 45s?

    or

    this is my car

    Thanks in advance.

"Your car, your choice, you have to look at it...." Me, I could never just accept someone else's opinion and roll with it. I honestly couldn't care less if someone else loves or hates my car, if it doesn't fit my own taste to the tee.

But since you asked, I would choose the TE37s/replicas. While I've loved what I've always referred to as "BBS style" wheels since I was just a wee lad, I don't think they jive all that well with our cars. Those other wheels look better, I think, though they're not going to have that concave look with your desired dimensions. Though since you are slammed on some good camber, you could go with a lower offset if you wanted to get that concave. Here's more what a +35 looks like:

So would you say get these rotas with 12+ offset

Or buy the 35+ and paint the hyper black rims to white? I was thinking about getting the white rims and getting different color lugnuts

im sure a few people would tell you to steer clear of Rotas. they've failed people in the past. fail as in break and cause you to wreck.

The second one in that exact color, would look good on your car.

Rota is an insanely popular brand, they've been in the business for a good while and are a clear leader in the budget wheel industry. Those that are experiencing breakage are in a very small minority. It's like that saying goes, about bad news spreading faster than the good. Anything can break when abused.

Any wheel can break. Cheap wheels are more likely to break than quality wheels. Rotas are cheap, but among the better cheap wheels. All the wheels you're looking at are of similar cheap quality. All are as likely to fail as another. Get wheels that are made to properly fit your car (as in NOT +12 offset...), fit proper tires to them, and don't drive like a maniac, and they won't break.

I moved this to the Image Gallery, since we don't need people inflating their post count giving their opinion (in fact, the rules specifically state that "what do you think of these wheels" threads are not allowed in the appearance section.) The thread was only not deleted because people have offered useful help to this point.

In short, get what you want. Get wheels that fit. Proper offset, proper width. Get them aligned properly. Use quality tires. And get whatever design YOU want on YOUR car. If you don't know what you want, we sure as hell don't!

A +12 17" rim is going to be fun to fit.
Te37 knock offs would look great, there are a ton of companies that make them.
As stated before, any rim can break.
Cant wait to see what you pick out.

i'd say the very first ones in 17x8 +35. those with a 215/40/17 tire and you should be fine.

Using the rim for what it was not intended for.
IE: Strecthing tires, running low air, bashing them into curbs, and so forth.

I am a fan of both wheels I've been wondering what some te37's knocks would look like on a cb but if I had to choose id probably go with the BBS LM knocks (bbs style) ones they look great on cb's

you forgot to include racing, very few wheels are do to the owner tracking a car and the wheel breaks due to whatever reason
