ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Oh, right. Good call. I was looking for the plate itself and I guess I just could seem to see it. I see it clearly now, though. Either way, since that one has been taken apart, the same applies.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Well I had to replace the oil pan the other day so I got to dive into the car a bit. After much thought I think I'm going to do a g23 build. Not sure of the details yet (still doing some research) but since I already have the block it just makes sense to give it a try. Until then there's other things I need to take care of like suspension and replacing the bushings. I need to fix my window too since it decided to go off track last night. There's an odd sound too that almost sounds like my axle is rubbing against something when I'm at low RPM speeding up.

I wouldn't do a G23 build. I would make your IAB functional. Shouldn't a pt6 Ecu work for him? I would get a spare IAB plate from an H22/23 or F22A6 that has the vacuum actuator and butterflies attached and a set of gaskets. Gut your IAB fully (it doesn't appear to be gutted currently, just disabled and hurting your top end power), stack a functioning IAB on that and you have an awesome intake system.

G23 builds are trouble, research them fully and be prepared to have everything machined and custom tuning.

lol everyone is so concerned with this stupid intake manifold. I'm about to just replace it If going through all that trouble is only going to net my a minor gains then I'm not even going to worry about it because there's other things on the car I can turn my attention to.... Isn't all tuning custom anyway? I'm not a noob and expect to just slap a motor together and expect it to work. I already know I have to have ports on the head welded shut, plus I would build the bottom end. I just wonder what is better for boost vs N/A and wonder which head/setup is better.

Do you plan to install sleeves? That would be my first step if you want to build any motor for power. I would keep the A6 head and boost the F23 block if that is what you want.

Otherwise if you want N/A go with an H22 long block outright, not just the head. Avoid the G23 frank becuase bang for buck it is not worth it. That is why everyone is suggesting not to do the frank. You can get better more reliable results through other methods than a G build.

Also we are suggesting to make the IAB functional because it yeilds noticable results and is not difficult or expensive to do. Honestly the intake you have is great, just add a spacer (gutted IAB) and a functional IAB and your low end will be awesome.

The only reason why I'm thinking about the G build is because I already have the motor is my car so it's not like I'm going through extreme lengths to do it. However, after some more thought I may just go with the F23 and build it for boost. We'll see though. Right now I need to focus on improving the worn out suspension components. Driving around yesterday I really like the low end power the f23 gives.

Put on an IAB for cheap and use the one on the motor that is non-functional as a spacer below it and swap out to a PT6 ECU or similar and you will really love the bottom end.
