ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    F22A Valve cover!

So after having changed out my old valve cover for the new black one that i painted i was left over with old one. So decided to clean it and restore it.

Except i decided to go with the RED wrinkle paint this time.

It has a few trouble areas due to the fact that a little bit of wind was going on while i was painting but to looks good until you start looking for them.
Im not going to install it to my car since i like the OEM black even more but im sure i will find a buyer since i have posted on the other forums that i have an account with.

He probably didn't use paint to strip it. He more than likely used stripper.

I really like how this looks. Did you use just a regular paint stripper?

I used "Super Clean" to degrease it.
And "Rust Oleum Aircraft Remover" to remove the old paint.
                I highly recommend both.
Just use a good set of disposable gloves since aircraft remover burns like a mother F***er if even the slightest milligram touches your skin.

When I did something similiar.. I. Painted it everything, sanded the letters. But used a razor blade first to scrape off the paint.

That came out real nice. I tried that same paint on one of my old VC's and it came out looking like frosted red anus.

Yours looks like it got powdercoated. WTF did I do wrong on mine?

What i do is i get about a 1inch blue painters tape then i lay it over the lettering then i get precision knife and start removing the tape little by little. If anything stays i just sand it off but im careful since i do this before i bake the valve cover.
