ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

With all the interior pieces I stripped lastnight, this morning I began to clean everything. This car was just disgusting. Everything was sticky, gooey, black, gross and smelled terrible.

I managed to get much of it cleaned up nicely, but things like the carpet and any fabric pieces, like the speaker cloth are just lost causes.

I've decided that when I do the interior swap, I'm going to dye the carpet, and the carpet and speaker grilles black, and then have the ivory leather and interipr panels, with the black 93 dash and Prelude wheel.

I think an ivory and black interior in a white car with a black hood is going to look bitchin. Funny thing though, I'm doing the interior swap and getting the car up to par mechanically, so it's going to have a really nice and clean interior, with a haggard looking body.

I won't be doing any bodywork or parts swaps until I individually paint the trunk, doors and bumpers in either Championship or Taffetas white. Obviously I need to paint the insides of the doors and trunk etc, which would be easier while they're off the car.

The quarter panels need some work. Some sanding, some filler and some paint. I imagine at some point this summer, the car may get sprayed, but I've got to save up cash for suspension & wheels right away.

Good news, so pass. side axles are the same, so I'm able to swap axles. Bought a pickle fork and a 36mm socket so I can do it. I'll bring the axle over to the guy's house and we can slam it in there and I can drive 'er home.

Nice! You've made some good progress so far. Why not make a new MRT?!

Everytime I read this thread's title under New Posts, I always think of this clip from Ghostbusters.

          My pictures/photos will return soon...

The passenger side is the same for auto and manual for sure. Only thing though is when changing the auto axle, you don't need to drain the atf but on the 5 speeds, you do. Make sure you bring a container to catch it, funnel, long tube, and some oil.

              lol, nice Josh.

Good point on that info yk86.

So...tried to get the 36mm nut off....impact gun wont do it. Sheared my breaker bar after that. Heated it, sprayed it with PB Blaster. It's not budging.

Just gonna price out a reman one, see what they're worth.

The guy's already got the 90 apart, we just need to put the axle in and put the brakes together.

And my god, the 90-93 front hub and brakes assembly is freakin stupid on these cars. What a pain in the ass. Whoever thought it was a good idea should be slapped.

I took mine off today, I had a 10 foot steel pipe on the breaker bar and I was moving the car backwards before it came loose lol

Yup, I was using about a 5 foot long pipe on my breaker bar and sheared the damn thing right off. Almost ended up on my face on the floor when it broke.

My shitty impact gun was hopeless.

If you work on cars often and remove axle nuts quite often, invest in a 3/4" drive breaker bar. They are about $30 for a 3' bar and $60 for the heavy duty. Sockets are about $7 each. I got mine from Princess Auto which I'm sure is in Alberta too.

I've got 30mm,32mm,36mm to do most Toyotas and Hondas. I don't know how many 1/2drive bars I've broken trying to remove the axle nut. Thank god for Craftsman lifetime warranty. The 3/4 drive has never failed me even on the tightest ones. It's so sturdy I can stand and bounce on it to get it to break loose in worst case scenarios.

I've never had to do much work like that which requires those tools, hence why I haven't invested in them yet.

However, my tool collection will vastly grow soon as my nice paychecks start rolling in.

Yeah, I understand. I've been doing this for 12+ years on the side now so my tool collection has grown quite large but it's still nowhere near "complete" lol. Although Princess Auto stuff is not top of the line (some can be damn right junk), the price can't be beat especially for tools you may only use 2-3 times.

We've got Auto Value and Princess Auto in town here. That 36mm socket I got from Auto Value was $22.

I've broken so many cheap tools int he past that when I buy tools now, it's worth the extra cost to buy the proper tool once.

Guy has the axle in and was doing something with the clutch. I'll probably have it this coming weekend.

It's taken like a month to get this damn car.
