ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

      The gold grille isn't in that great of shape. The lower gold bar is quite pitted. I'll get a better pic. I want to keep the grille shell, but I'll send you the gold pieces for cheap if you want them that bad.

      The EXR is rough bodywise. It's straight, but it has bondo and patch work done on the quarters and stuff. It's not the prettiest work, but I'm pretty decent with bodywork and stuff, so honestly, I would much rather tackle bodywork than a motor/tranny swap.

          '90 EX-R coupe? Sounds good man. Swap the '93 trunk, leather interior, and rear disk over to the '90 coupe and you're good.

          Are you keeping both of them?

            SE will be stripped and junked. I simply do not have the time or the help to complete an engine/tranny swap with my work schedule.

            Why tear apart a mechanically sound, running car that only requires bodywork?

              id rather swap motors than do any bodywork. haha motors bolt in, panels weld in.

                I hear you and I'd do the same. Keep the trunk though, or atleast the wing...they're hard to find.

                When are you getting the '90 coupe?

                  I'll be getting the 90 within the next couple days. It's rough to look at, but I'll be able to clean it up and make it look decent.

                  Either way, both cars require lots of bodywork and paint, so to me, it doesn't really matter which one I use. It's a project and a work in progress.

                  This time, I got exactly what I was after. 9091 5 speed coupe that I can add some SE bits too.

                  Once I get the mechanicals all sorted out, then I need to save $$ and buy wheels and suspension. That'll be over 2 grand right there.

                    93 SE vs 90 EX-R Win/Fail comparison

                    90 EXR -

                    Runs = Win
                    Drives = Win
                    NEW 5 speed = Epic Win
                    Sunroof = Win
                    White Gauges = Sort of Win
                    White body = Win
                    Needs some bodywork = Fail
                    Burgundy interior = Fail
                    Rear drums = Fail

                    93 SE -

                    Doesn't run = Fail
                    Automatic = Fail
                    Also requires bodywork and paint = Fail
                    Leather = Win
                    93 coupe trunk with spoiler = Win
                    Good body panels to swap = Win

                    So, it's about a 50/50 split.

                    I think the 90 has more potential to be fixed up easier since it's already running and a 5 speed. It saves me pulling apart a running car and pulling 2 engines (so, twice the work), and doing a 5 speed swap.

                      I should have the 90 home this weekend. Need to replace the RH CV shaft on it, so I'm going to pull the one from the SE.

                      Today I began stripping down the SE. My heart sank as I began to tear into it.

                      I have the interior completely gutted right now, except for the dash, which I'll tackle next.

                      How does the e-brake cover/handle come off?

                      I removed the hood, grille, lights & front bumper, the doors will be coming off and going on the 90, as will the trunk, tails, front and rear bumpers and side skirts.

                      Now that everything is out of the car, I can clean it, as this car was just filthy, dirty, sticky and gooey everywhere.

                      Took the valve cover off, and the top pulley/sprocket deely for the timing belt on the cam is completely sheared off and hanging loose within the timing belt cover, and there's no oil in the motor. So, it's definetly dead.

                      I'll be having some of the SE parts up for sale shortly, such as the heated mirrors, heated seat switches, sunroof visor and some other bits. The chrome fender trim has already been sold.

                        Updates sound good brother. Don't forget to swap the door moldings when swapping body parts. 92-93 moldings are thinner than 90-91(atleast the U.S. version is).

                          i know for a fact automatic driver side axles are different than manual axles, so the passenger side MIGHT be different. im not 100% sure

                          poor SE, dont want to keep the heated mirrors and seats? how come?

                            Because who the hell uses heated seats and mirrors in the summer?

                            Driver side CV shaft doesnt matter, I need to know if the passenger side is the same. If not, then I'm out of luck til I find one somewhere.

                            Anyways...some pics.

                            Run into a couple issues at the moment. How do you remove the SRS equipped steering wheel? I have the dash bezel all unscrewed and ready to come out, but it seems like the Bose radio is holding it. Everywhere else is loose and pulled away from the dash, but it's stuck around the radio, and I don't want to break it.

                              Driver side axle is the same for auto and Manuel. As for the ebrake, you unbolt and exchange the entire thing.
