ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Truth. There were never any special order models*. We would have seen some odd color combos floating through here at some point. Besides when I went shopping for a 1992 Accord in 1992, I asked several dealers about other color combos and they said you can only have whatever is offered/whats on the lot. Whatever is in the brochure is all that is available.

*At least for the U.S. for 92-93 models

Definitely. I think the only difference is when a dealer would offer an aftermarket dealer installed leather interior as part of the price. I've seen a few cars having blue/red/grey leather interiors floating around, but it's definitely a Katzkin type kit installed after the dealer received the car.

Exactly, the leather kit was not made by Honda, but once installed it looked dead on oem. One gripe I had with the aftermarket leather offered by my dealer was that the armrest was vinyl and not leather. The door panels were beautiful with gathered leather and padding behind it to make it look even more plush. Man I wanted it so bad! lol

Honda leather doesn't seem to have aged all that well, either... Most SEs that I see have TERRIBLE interiors. I've seen a few Galant VR4s of the same year (some even older) with leather that has remaind in MUCH better condition... and Mitsubishi has always lagged behind Honda in interior materials, for the most part! The aftermarket leather in Hondas may be a good thing.

There where black LX's and EX's and the SE only came in the green and gold But you could order them in what ever color that Honda made that year. That is what special order means. You can do that with any dealership but it will cost you extra to do it. Now do you get what special order means?

I've worked for car dealerships from 88-99 and you can order any color combo you wanted and wasnt limited to what they had on stock. If they make it but its offered in a different model they could order it made in the color you wanted. You had to pay extra for the int. and paint color options that you wanted. Thats why most salesman are shitty cause they dont offer the shit or dont know about them. 80% of salesman just want to make a quick sale thats all. You dont know how many times I've heard I dont like the options on this 1 but I do on that 1 but dont like the color of that 1 but like that 1. Same way with the cadillac dealer I used to work at a customer didnt like any of the colors they offered but liked a color that was on a chevy that wasnt offered on the cadillac so they ordered it cause it was 1 of the factory colors that they do make.

Oh yeah... salesmen are lazy. The faster they get the car sold and out the door, the faster they can sell another one.

I didnt say they where lazy just shitty and I didnt say all are but most are cause they dont know that a customer can order those options. Some company's charge but some dont. They just dont or choose to ignore that if its a factory color they can order it even though its not offered for that model vehicle.

In 1992 I went to 4 different Honda dealerships to look at the 1992 Accord. Asked if the 6 spoke ex coupe wheels could be had on the ex sedan. They said nope, only on the coupes. Leather? Sorry, that's not available, but we got a guy that can do it for you, there's a shop down the street that does great work. Also asked to get the Accord as an Ex with cobalt blue as the exterior paint, but was told that only the combinations listed in the brochure could be had. I guess I didn't know the secret handshake to get the special order list. I find it funny that salespeople would not even mention this, even at 4 different dealers considering that it would bring in even more profit? That just makes no sense. If special order options existed, we would have seen more than a few come through this website by now.

If dealerships didnt do or still dont do special order then how they heck did I get my 92 Nissan Maxima SE with a 3.2 liter V6 when they only supposed to come with a 2.8 or 3.0 V6 and the 16" rims when they only come in the 15"? All SE's came with leather Mine was ordered with cloth red on black. Mine didnt cost 14K like all the others mine was 20K. No special order? Is that why I waited 2 1/2 months for my car? And by the way the 3.2 liter was out of the 300ZX cars and was 220HP and not the 185HP like the rest. I had that car for 12 years and it was awsome till it got totaled.
