ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The chrome breather was just an idea I had... Apparently a chevy breather with grommet fits just fine in the oil cap part of the valve cover. They also have the ones with the tube coming off, so you can basicly just plug in a catch can setup to the valve cover and not need to drill/tap/modify anything else on your engine.

BTW, This is turbo, i promise you.

nice turbo setup. If i were you I would have used an FMIC because it totally messed up your hood. Now you cant look JDM anymore

a lot of times you work with what you got

with FMIC come pressure drop, gotta mod the bumper, spend more money on the setup in general, etc

a top mount is more efficient in terms of cost/time and usually a lot easier to fab in there
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

lol... you should look at the rest of the car... This car knows no JDM.

I went with the top mout b.c initially I was going to only run 8psi. Boost is too addictive. The setup outgrew the intercooler too quick.

Yeah. The 400 is honestly an estimate. I was running 30+psi (wastegate block off basicly) and at 6500rpm i'd peg my gauge and keep spooling. I'd start to blow the tires off at 105. The head is completley built, and I'd rev it out to 8500.

I found out that wastegates are a good idea after taking out a piston. (after 4,000 miles of unlimited boost)... The car is currently torn down and awaiting new parts. The block is already back from the machine shop. I just need to get the turbo inspected.

When the civic is back together, I will have dyno videos and real numbers this time.

I think I'm gonna head over to the other vehicles forum and make a thread for it in the next couple days.

                          Random thought...

Should I cop out and throw a FMIC on there? If I do, this is what im going to put on because I'd need both of my inlet/outlets on the passanger side to keep my ic piping simple, clean, and ac friendly. I also like the top to bottom core design, and the price. i can get a decent deal on those.

I then would build an air box for the turbo intake to keep the hood vents functional.

what would be the gains versus what you have currently? better air flow? less heat?

                              Yes.

It would probabally be a realistic 30whp, on top of it not heat soaking after 2nd gear. lol. The datalogs were interesting at the track. I'd start the pass at 110 degree IAT's, and at the end of the track they would be 180-210.

If I could keep the intake air temps down around 110-130, I'd be golden.
