ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

yeah but most repair shops like service king charge way too much...when a uhaul crushed driver rear end of my cb's(very minor) quarter panel, tailights and bumper, they charge the ins company $1150 way too much......i could have done it somewhere else for about $350 or less, but the other guys insurance was paying it

but thats why they have shops of their choosing to access damage. If the cost of repair exceeds cost of the car, they pay the smaller amount. thats how insurance companies work.

They give you as little as possible. Look at Shagwagon..... they are trying not to give him anything.

When I crashed my baby (f20a cb7), i boughtthe car back for 200 dollars, and the reason y I bought the car back was because I had a JDM motor in here, which cost me 650 shipped, y dump a good motor when she's jus fine, let alone buy another JDM motor. Plus she had a 11.5 fw and f1 clutch, besides the motor... I bought it back cuz I had Rare Oem Grey leather seats =) that I found @ the JY and I refused to give the up, also I wanted my exhaust and muffler.

See what u can do, I mean there's always ppl out there who take junk cars away for free.

Ill strip the shit outta that interior and wheels, mayb motor, and junk the cb shell and keep it moving to something else

of course that car is fixable. as long as the frame is fine the fenders, doors & bumper can b replaced. the rear quarter is the hard part but it can b done. my boss is from New Zealand & once we had a car like that. i said pour gas on it & burn the fucker, but after 2 days of cutting, heating, welding & shaping w/ a flatening hammer u couldn't tell it was ever damaged. but everybody can't do that.

Dam man, the car took a beating, glad to hear your ok, and you had full coverage. Just like everyone else has recommended, go find yourself a nice shell, and swap everything. Insurence should quote your car 3-4+k in the condition and mileage it was in. Two years ago my car was appraised with 132k miles, only an though 91 lx @ $3.8k Oh salvage for my car to buy it back from the insurence company was 700. They paid me 3.1k and I gotta keep my car, 1000 in labor, 500 in paint, and 500 in parts, and the car was good as new.

Oh and a little trick to get more money out of the insurence company, is to clean and detail the car before they look at it, otherwise they could lowball you for some dirt, & if your a smoker, empty out the ashtray, and bath all fabric in your car with febreeze & hang some air fresheners.

Question is can he do that for less than the cost of another CB? Tough considering even 93s are going for like 1K stock. Any car is fixable, it's a question of whether or not it's worth the effort.

This is what I planned on doing. I already found another one on craigslist on the westside of town for $2300 (http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/1144381035.html) and go to the salvage yard and get all my stuff out of it and transfer them to this one. How difficult would it be to do an engine swap of my engine form the salvage yard to a new cb?
