ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS keep your better tires on the REAR of your car.

In a FWD, better tires on the front. ALWAYS. Because that's where ALL your control comes from. I can control the car with the parking brake locked and the rear end sliding around, but bald tires on the front mean not steering in the rain at all.

Sorry everyone, but, WRONG WRONG WRONG.
New tires should always be mounted on the rear (YES! THE BACK) of any vehicle. Here is why:
When a vehicle encounters a loss of traction scenario on the front wheels, traction can easily be established by the average driver by.........................................
slowing down
this is easily recoverable
it is called Understeer
When a vehicle encounters a loss of traction scenario on the rear wheels
, the driver cannot compensate, effectively. This is called Oversteer, or "Fishtailing", and is not easily recoverable by the average driver.
Therefore, the tires with the "best" tread should be mounted on the rear axle, to avoid possible life-threatening vehicle control problems

Even if you are Tony Montoya, why create a needlessly unsafe situation if you don't have to? New tires always have to go to the back.

It is recommended for the AVERAGE driver to have the better tires on the rear for this reason.
I have had my worse tires on the rear for the entire time with my CB and have recovered every time.
With a loos of traction in the front you tap the brake and your fine. in the rear,
i shift accordingly to somewhere around 3-4k and push the gas. The front tires have always pulled me straight.
i think the rear brakes are too passive to be effective when you have no traction up front.
in my '87 legend when i had it, i was going around a bend that went up a small hill crossing a part of a small highway.
I went and made the left and pressed the gas to go because of oncoming traffic.
The front tires spun and when i turned the wheels slid and i almost when into the guard rail.
lucky me there was a curb there and that help correct me.
Recommendations say rear, i say don't be so cheap as to leave ANY close to bald tire on your car.
This isn't the case anyway right now. So lets get back to talking about how glad everyone is that we don't have to wonder where he is in a few months.
Cause we are. So let us know what goes on with the insurance and what is going to happen next. Another CB????
