I always been a fan of economy hondas being 4bangers. I've been in a CL-S and it doesn't have that same in control feel like a say a rev happy B16. The J-series felt too smooth like a 350z VQ motors feel to me. Kinda hard to explain but I like crisp snappy gear shifts and abusive rpm revability. Sure the J-series can get up there in the RPMs too but a V6's feel doesn't feel like a 4banger to me.

I'm not saying a J-series wouldn't be a awesome swap for a CB, but I mean common when the mounts are out there for awhile, maybe it will become semi cheaper and at that point we can have a TSX basically for under 5,000 if the parts are sourced right.

What kind of mpg are you getting with the swap so far?

I haven't driven the car around enough to determine mileage yet.

He put a 160hp motor in his car... it's NOT going to beat 350zs in that state!

However, he has since bumped it up to over 200whp, which, with proper gearing, proper driving, and a car that weighs a good deal less than a stock CB7 (2600lbs still, Scott?), it would probably walk on an average 350z.

His old H22 took down a z06 (and the drama that ensued there was hilarious as well).


For the record, I respect the hell out of Scott. He's earned that respect. Not only with his car, or the motors in it, but the way he helps people out, no matter how little they know. However, I'm posting here simply to speak my mind. It's been made quite clear to me that he has no need to be defended. He's doing quite well himself.



As for the others, I AM aware that this is the Beginner Forum. Please do not contribute to the flaming. I am allowing this idiotic conversation to continue out of sheer curiosity, and I am making a very LARGE exception to my own rules in doing so. It won't get locked. However, newcomers SHOULD be aware that this thread is more than just how not to act... This is well beyond acceptable, and is only allowed to continue (without multiple bans being handed out) because I'm curious.
