How do I run new speaker wire to the door speakers?

Stock location. Components. Looks like there is loom from the door into a grommet plug that goes into the car. I cant even see where the plug is on the inside. Do I have to drill a hole for the new wire? Thanks

Why not just use the stock wire, that is already there? Or are you just replacing with better quality wires?

you serious do not need to upgrade your wiring unless your are running high power speakers... and by high power i dont mean regular coaxials or components i mean like 250w+ RMS not max power.

just use your stock wiring buy a plug from best buy that will plug straight onto your factory plug. easy, if your quick you should have both doors done in about 30min.

So I just find those wires on the inside of the car and run them to the amp that way? Not sure how to run wires from the stock plug to the amp. Maybe I have been out of this for too long??? They are components.

If you are installing a component set, I just put my crossover in the door, and ran wires to my tweeter (in the door panel) and to my midwoofer.

Depends where you are going to put your tweeters and all that.

I plan on doing the exact same as you. How did you wire it to your amp though? That is my dilemma.

Put the amp before the crossover.

why would he use the 18ga wire connected to an amp. Wire to small. When I had my Civic I had to take the door panel off and trace the wiring from the door to the inside of the car, took about an hour or so but I did it the correct way.

i did a lot of research on this and most installers were saying they would upgrade to a higher gauge wire once more than 50 watts of RMS power was going towards a speaker. Its not the speaker's capability that matters, its how much power you're sending through the wires. I've got 100rms in the rear deck and 50's in the front. I'm upgrading everything to 16 gauge wire for safety and clarity.

Yeah I've got a 400 W amp powering just door speakers. They're 6x9s in back and 5.25's in front. Its about 50w rms each. My friend suggested upgrading speaker wire for clarity purposes and the extra added power. I just ran it along the kick panels of the car underneath the carpeting.

definitely A LOT clearer when you amplify the speakers only, but the best way is also to get a sub to match that high quality of clarity.

no, no, i mean upgrading the wire gauge
