ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Front door speakers

I'm in the market for good speakers for the front door that have an RMS of at least 52 watts.

unfortunately, we are limited to the polk db 501's which are only five inches and 42 watts....

has anyone been able to put a bigger speaker in the doors without much modification?

I'm assuming you have an EX Coupe. Remove the factory plastic pod the front door speaker mounts to and you can install any 6½" speaker your heart could possibly desire. Problem solved.

screw pods, either buy spacers at a local stereo shop, or best buy or circuit city or whatever. or be a true diy'r and cut out a ring of mdf and make your own spacers.

as far as factory audio equipment goes... it sucks, everything about it. theres some factory systems that are absolutely amazing. but for the most part, even the premium systems are crap in most all cars.

yeah, i've already bought a new Sony gt410u head unit. so now im looking for nice speakers to compliment it.

i think ill goto the junk yard to find some LX pods or something.

i'd like to get sony speakers to match my sony system, but my friend bought some polk speakers for his civic and i have to say those things sound pretty damn good.

he also has an alpine head unit in which he knows his way around the audio settings... but still, polk is known to be the best sound for the money

dont waste your time at the junk yard, mount it on your door directly. those pods are already where they should be, at the junk yard.

sony is alright not one of my personal faves, and polk is good, but not the best. there is not really a best, it comes down to each individual listeners prefrence.
