Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Speakers sizes and brand related problems

    Might be a lame question but I don't know what is the size for the oem speakers of my CB.
    Also, I am wondering what brand is good. (I am not the expender type)
    The one I install in my CB is crappy, performance tekiniks or something like that.
    My radio is jensen so, it should be good !

          jensen is terrible.

          as stated above.. i believe the best bang for the buck is alpine.

              kicker or infinity. If its an EX the front doors will have those 5 1/4" brackets

                i agree with alpine and infinity. But alpine is not the best bang for the buck in my opinion. Its a bit more no the expensive side . Best bang for the buck would be somthing like kenwood although they CAN be expensive but not always.

                    Pioneer and Sony for budgets. I suggest save money and go all-out Infinity or Alpine.

                        MB Quart Premium or Q Series. Nothing less.

                        Front speakers on the EX is 5" NOT 5 1/4"

                        Front On LX is 6 1/2"

                          What about the wattage ? What is the max wattage recomended without the need for a amplifier ?
                          Also, if I have an old, big, bulky stereo. I can take the speaker out of it and use it as a sub ? (the Speaker itself is pretty big)

                            Don't go for peak power , go for RMS because it's where it's at. 100 Watts + RMS needs an amplifier I think.

                              Any speaker can be powered off the deck, It depends on the sensitivity of the speaker and the minimum rated power. Amps are there to make them sound louder and cleaner.
