ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    15" Subs that pound

I know I asked this last year sometime, but yet again, I need some advice. I think one 15" subwoofer would sound good, but I'm thinking of running 2 15" (ported box) in my CB7. What type of amp would I need for 2 15's? Also, would a capacitor be necessary?

This is want my setup to sound like.....King Kong In The Trunk!! How would I get 2 15's to sound like that? I might run 3 15's! I'm a madman if I actually put 3 15's in a CB7!

yea thats a lil over kill ... i mean 3 ... you would have to have like a whole nother battery to run the amp or amps lol but i think one would be fine ... if you had three you would be like sliding around town cause the vibration would make the car vibrate off the road .... not really but ... something close

      Dude don't run 15's.....

Rule of thumb is 1-farad of capacitor for every 1000 watts. And don't buy some cheap ass speakers and expect to get cRaZy bass outta them either.

        Why 15" ?

This is just a question but what is the obsession with 15" subs?

My first question is what exactly are you looking at in a system and how much money do you have to spend...

If you have tons of money and don't care about sound quality at all, I would suggest Kicker Solobaric subs. And only go with two and probably 12"

Once again though those subs are expensive and if this is your first system, which from the way you worded your question it probably is, I would say maybe it would be better for you to learn about what you really want and then do some research before spending a few thousand on a stereo.

Another thing to do is just listen to other people's setups, stereos sound much different in a car then they do at the store. And don't concern yourself with items like capacitors until you have a functioning system. Get the basics then get the add ons.

This is just advice, feel free to ignore it. (as my personal opinion instead of having it sound like king kong is in the trunk, maybe you should look into having it sound like the band, artist who sings the song is in the seat next to you instead of a monkey...)
