Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

        i know a serious sub

if u can get ur hands on a Diamond Audio D9 or the original TDX, that is 1 bad a$$ mothersubwoofer. Its kinda power hungry bout the same demand as a T2 but I bet my cb7 it will sound better and hit harder than the T2. just my 2 cents.

eh i have 2 kicker cvr 10s that are way louder than one 15 that I had and that one 15 was way too big for my car. i recommend 2 L7s or even one w7 12. one w7 had a dB rating of 150. with my 2 10s i need dynamat. its fuckin wicked buuut if you really want a 15then it would be a Kicker Solo X. kicker is a damn good product. good luck to ya and thump loud

This is want my setup to sound like.....King Kong In The Trunk!! How would I get 2 15's to sound like that? I might run 3 15's! I'm a madman if I actually put 3 15's in a CB7!

It all depends on what sub you got and then thats when you would know which amp to match it up to...

Alot of people on here recommend kicker, RE, etc etc...But since i have been through almost all of the name brand car audio system, the best sub out there is JL Audio's W7's...Even though they may be EXPENSIVE as hell, nothing out there can touch it or even come close...I am not speaking just from research but from experience....

If you want hard ass bass, go with the kicker Solo X= Very very crazy ass bass....but sound quality sucks...

R.E. xxx, Hits really hard also and do sound decent...

Kicker l7 or l5 hits hard but sound quality is not that great (I had 6 l7 but got ride of all of em)

Image dynamics idq versions= Great bass and good sound quality.

Rockford Fosgates, T2 and T3= Bass hits hard but quality, no..

BUT all in all The JL w7 subwoofers are the only subs out there from my experince hits the hardest but at the same time still have superior sound quality! There are many other subs out there( i have named a few) that can probably hit harder bass, but their soundquality would not be no where near the w7's....W7's is different because you get the best of both worlds, sq and spl(alittle more sq).. If you have any question feel free to hit me up...

ps. If you search those speakers that i have named, they are all of high quality subs with high price tags...But if you do go with any them, you would only need about 1 or maybe 2 subs, any more and it would be overkill( ie, changing to high output alternators, better battery/batteries, etc etc...

              Hope this helps...

Ps. IF you go with jl subs, their slash series amps are the best match ups!

Yea if you throw a 15 in your trunk your car might just fall apart. I had a 15' alphasonik and it knocked by rear view mirror off. I would just get two 12" subs with the small trunk space the sound should carry just fine.

first let me start by saying that capacitors are no good. why you ask because the discharge in about 4 tenths of a second and need about 10 seconds to recharge. so while they help for that first note they spend the rest of the song trying to catch up which means they are trying to pull power from the rest of the system.

as far as subs go, bigger isnt always better. take a look at the meca website. look at the street classes. my old boss(eric balmert) did over a 160 with 4 tens and a pair of american bass 400.1's daisy chained. now he did have 4 extra batterys and an alternator that would make 300 amps and was adjustable from 10 to 18 volts. the entire team, joe alt, eric balmert, dan bates(team who's your dady) all runs around the same setup and when i left things was alway the team to beat in street classes for meca. its been a year since i worked with them, but i figure they are still up to it.

you only need to remember that for a sub to be loud it doesn't always need a tone of cone surface area, it can make up for area with excursion or xmaxx. thats why jl w7's are so much louder than subs of the same size. the have massive amounts of cone travel.

sound is only moving air. when you figure out how to move the most air the with the least amount of resistance you get to be the loudest. subs are important but equally important is box design, amp thd/power/efficiency/currant consumption, the car its going in,god there are so many things i could rant for hours. you dont need 15's by the dozen to be herd 10 blocks away.

this was a great rant till u mentioned this. the w7 is a nice sub but way over priced and there are sub with more eff... and power handling thats in that price range and would blow the socks offf that sub. but none the less great rant and just from what i heard meca isnt a great org..... but its whatever. u are right u dont have to have 15's to be loud!

i agree they are over priced, i mearly used them as an example due to the fact they are louder than "most" subs similarly sized and also they have a very high excursion. besides that everyone knows about them.

they are over priced as shit, and as far as straight spl is concerned they are by no means the loudest thing available. none the less jl audio is what people compare stuff to love them or hate them.

Not trying to disprove you, just wanting to get more info out there so people (mainly me) can learn what's the best. What other subs would you suggest over a W7 in the same price range?
