ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

First you need wires...get an amp wiring it.

Power goes to + battery terminal
Ground goes to any ground, try to find a bolt or something unpainted.

The RCA cables (Red/White) go into the back of your headunit.
Remote wire needs to be spliced into the power wire of your headunit (i think?)

Then just wire the amp to the sub(s)

key is run your power from your battery on one side of your car and the rca's on the other side so you dont get any interference.

run the remote on the same side as your power cable.
some rca kits come with the remote attached to the rca's. if this is the case run a seperate remote wire from the back of the head unit to the amp. it doesnt need to be very thick wire at all..

use a short ground.... the shorter the better....

not much more than that to it...

        good luck

p.s. put a fuse close to the battery so if the power cable shorts out you dont burn the whole car....

the wiring kit should come with a fuse.
but ya its pretty simple that diagram is perfect. Just find a hole in your firewall and pull the mating up in your car and run it through to the back.

rca's dont come with ground wire attatched (at least none that ive seen) that thin wire is for ground loop isolation, many many people use it for a remote wire... but it isnt

oh and if its an automatic, you can drill a hole through clutch plate. thats usually the best, safest and easiest spot to go through, its very easy to find also. and even if u have a stick u can usually get a hole right there, just doulbe check on both sides before you drill so u dont f ur shit all up.

im a certified installer, ive been doin it for over 5 years, and over 2 professionally. so if you have any questions you can hit me up on here or myspace.

            late

edit: your remote wire should be a blue/white on your radio harness. if its a stock radio your going to hook it up to switched ignition, you may get turn on pop if you do that tho so its good to put it on a switch if u have turn on pop.

also make sure that you sure use wire that's a large enough guage for your amplifier, cause if it isn't you'll cause a strain on your amp. and hey UrDoneSRH I thought on our cars we had a gromet that we could pop out on the passengers side firewall.

ehhh... u can do that if u like, but i am kinda stuck in my ways since its my job i have my routine because on most vehicles there isnt a grommet there so i try to have a universal method. i also like it because i run the rcas/speaker wires down the passenger side (reason being so i dont have a bunch of wires cluttering up the driver side underdash) so running it there dumps the power right where it needs to be

Don't get me wrong, that works too. I just usually run all my power wires on the same side as the battery and the signal wires on the opposite like you stated above. That's why my signal wire are on the drivers side and the power wires on the passenger side, but however you wanna do it. It's your method to your madness, as long as it works I guess.

dont forget 2 turn down all the knobs on ur amp.gain especially.turn ur cd player up until its as loud as it gets without distorting the sound, and adjust the gain on ur amp until u have the base desired.this way u can get max sound without sounding like crap and having 2 much base for the little power ur deck gives 2 ur speakers.p.s... depending on the amp and subs a capacitor might not b a bad idea,u can usually buy 1 that comes with a wiring kit.helps the amp have more power when it needs it and saves on altenator.
