ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Hidden sub location??

Alright here's the deal. My car got broken into about a month ago and it was a quick trunk smash and grab of my Audiobahn sub and Alpine amp. I was pissed.
So, I wanna know where I can put a sub in my coupe that it would be semi-hidden or at least a little harder to steal?? I've been trying to think of places but I want you guys' opinions too, even if it means making my own box which I wouldn't mind trying. Thanks.

You can build an enclosure that will fit into the spare tire area, and then bolt through the box and under the car... Also use security screws to hold the subs down to the box... without the proper tools, and knowhow, nobody will be able to steal anything.

      that sucks to hear man.

now, you could always just bolt the box right to the trunk floor. this will make it really hard to steal since the thieves will have to un-bolt or un-screw the box or amp before they actually get anything.

also, an alarm wouldnt hurt to have if you dont already have one.

same goes for pumpin your system around your neighbourhood. you dont know what kind of shady characters are watching.

How about you disconnect the wire that opens the trunk inside you car.

I have two kicker 12's in a ported box and I just mounted the box to my rear strut bar so they cant just pull the box out.

i saw this ugly little saturn car, and it had like 4 12's and 3 amps in the trunk area. this guy not only had an alarm, but where the back seat folds down inside the car, he had nicley welded some bars across, so nobody could access anything from inside the car to the trunk. then, when you opened up the trunk like 1/4 of the wayz, there was this thick chain and a big paddlock, so you needed a key to undo the two chains, then lift up ur trunk. this car was full proof to the average car thief. cuz who would carry bolt cutters, or even a hack saw?! i know i wouldnt do all that welding and stuff to my cb7, but nobody off the street will get yo system.

i would say try and put a sub enclosure underneath your seat instead of the trunk.just get a truck wedge box and you should be able to do it.

take out the back seat and put it there.... it takes alota time to remove the system from the back seat when its in a coupe.. and put a cover over the subs so that the screws r hard to get to if you make the cover outa mdf along with the box... you can only have the box partly covered untill the subs r mounted and then finish covering the box to hide the screws to the cover for tha subs and make shure u gota alarm

wow... lot of ideas, idk for most of them but that's just me.

bolt it down/to a bar = it takes less than a minute for me to unscrew a sub from a box by hand, so if they had a small screwdriver you still have your box. Does help though I know of a few who've avoided losing their system.

it doesn't matter where you put it if it isn't secure. It doesn't matter too much if you advertise or not, if they see your headunit, they'll hit, the sub is a bonus they know how to steal as well. We have had random hits in this neighborhood on cars you wouldn't think to really get much from, so it can happen to anyone. Don't advertise, but moreso think where you park and choose a more secure location when you have the chance.

alarms help a lot... (I found a shop putting in a basic setup for $88)

If you want it both hidden and secure the wheel well idea is your best bet. Theives who know what they are doing won't spend more than a couple minutes on a car. Your headunit will still be your biggest worry. If you want to go to the extreme you can wire it up in the glovebox and just make a face plate to hold it in, albeit you lose your glovebox space.

I'll never forget 4:45am when I saw a fist hole through my driver window and wires hanging out everywhere.

lol go to members ride thread...

they are cb5 accord inspire headlights, similar to the cc2 headlights some people swap. Basically the cc2's = jdm/edm integra 1pc's and the cb5's = edm vigor 1pc's. Where the cc2's have a third light for fog, these have high/low beam in 1 bulb and the 2nd is a fog.

why not just use the trunk lock? There's a keyhole right where the trunk popper is. Or is this not in all models? I know both of my past cbs had them.

actually, i was thinkin you could just bolt the box to the floor from the inside then install the sub after the box is already down. they would have to unscrew the sub to steal it and that takes longer than would be wise. this would make it pretty hard to steal.
