ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I NEVER scrape up the paint it can promote rust. the 3 screws give your ground a stronger connection and prevent it from moving. I've done it this way for 4 years now and seldom have a car that has engine noise... and usually if it does have engine noise it came in that way.

    so thats my 2 cents

Make sure your ground is good. Sand down the paint to bare metal for the best conductivity. Try to find an exiting ground and use that point instead of creating another ground. That reduces the chance of getting whine. Also, it doesn't matter how long the ground is as long as your ground is good enough. I have a few components in my trunk with ground wires that are over 3 feet long. They all go into a single distribution block and then grounded to an existing ground in the car.

Also, if you're running crappy RCA, that might be the problem. Usually it's the ground though.

its alternator whine.. dont get the piece to filter the whine cause it degrades the sound that comes out the speaker.... if anything make sure the ground are properly grounded and seperate from rca's..

as you can see theres a trillion different things you can do to fix it, same as things that can cause it. your going to have to go through each option one by one... engine noise sucks. i had a 90 accord in my shop today thats been in for engine noise a shit load of times. i finally figured it out, i disconnected the ground wire, and the amp stayed on, it was a old pioneer and it was grounding through the back seat it was mounted on, so i used abs plastic and mounted the amp on that so it wouldnt touch the seat. it seems to have worked cuz the guy didnt come back.
