ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Alternator?

    Hi guys? Awsome forum!!!
I used to have a '92 KA7 Acura LEGEND and at that time i was planning on installing the MTX Thunder 942 2-channel amp from CarDomain.com (for which MTX expressly told me that i definately needed aftermarket alternator) but some dude at a local Tweeter shop is telling me that he's built a system MUCHHH crazier on stock alt?!?!?! He says just get like two yellow tops and i should be fine

Im confused/skeptical of that advice cuz im getting a '91 CB7 Sedan in a few weeks and i'm wondering if i should really look into investing in an Ohio Generators alt (which CarDomain.com tells me is primo stuff). Now should i believe that Tweeter guy or MTX Audio and the CarDomain tech?

If anyone has had experience with that Thunder 942 or knows about it can u please throw a word of advise? (i also got the StreetWire 0/1 gauge monster kit)
    Thank you so much...

if u gonna be pushing over 1k rms power u need a better batt..... like the yellow tops or the kinetic power cells. if u go over 1.5k rms look into a alt

The amp came with the ''birth sheet'' cuz it was bench tested. It was tested at 12.5v bettery input and it gave 892 (promised 700). So i'm pretty sure that at a full 14.4v (3k+ rpm) it'll be squirting just over 1k(...i would say max of 1,100). Promised is 942.
If i do happen to get a 4-channel amp it won't push the total to more than 1,500w or 1,600w. U think i'm better off in just investing in a good batt/cap combo and leave the stock 85 amp alt?
