Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Faceplate Question

    Hey guys. I haven't really thought of this until yesterday but I was just wondering something about the safety of my faceplate. I have an Alpine headunit and I don't turn off the unit when I pull it out. I always just turn off the car, then I pull out the headunit. And then when I go and turn on the car I always put the unit back in when after I have started the car. Is this bad for the unit? Will it cause a short or something?

    not that i know of...i have a jvc detachable deck and i take it in and out while the car is on and its still good

      the only thing i think its bad is when you do that , you turn on the car then its turns on also then when you start the car the deck automatically shuts off then turns on back again when the car is started. I don't know if its really bad , it's just I aint comfy about it being turned on and off and on rapidly.

        yea i see what your saying paul my alpine does that and i have had it for a lil over a year and its fine...

          yeah....this isn't a problem...the deck can handle it...when you remove or install the faceplate it turns itself on and off...they are designed to do this...there is minimal current and voltage going between the face plate and head unit...not enough to cause an arch or a short....just dont try to pull the power wire out of your amp while it is on...that could be bad
