ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

yea blue.. if somehow your head set dosnt have one or somthing happened to it and it isnt there.. you can take a small wire and put it in the remote wire place and bridge it to the power if you want it to turn on.. umm i would leave it on.. it will kill your battery.. so that means when you are done listening to the system.. just pull the remote wire out of the power wire..

the solid blue is for power antenna and the blue/white is for amp turn on, so use the blue/white casue if you use the blue when u listen to radio your amp will be on and when you go to cd your amp will shut off, cause the blue looses power when you go to cd cause the power antenna retracts.

My brothers, friends stereo caught on fire and it was "professionally" installed, so yes do it right heh. He brought it back and yelled at them so they put the stock stereo back in and left so many clips/bolts missing and hacked it BADD, like tweeters dangling in the door panel and shit. Anyway.. use the blue/white. I have two amps so I had to splice the end of mine into two wires so 1 could go to both amps.

You should use a relay for this application and use the 12v+ head unit lead to trigger the relay. Source voltage should come directly from the battery. I used to install, and that's the RIGHT way.

Someone help me out here but if you don't have the amp turn on wire you should be able to do something with your acc. power wire. However this would cause the amp to be on if your acc. power was on even if the stereo isn't.

yes your amp will be on even though your radio isnt on, what you can do is buy a tr-4 module, pac makes it, its a low voltage trigger module that will turn on your amp, its great when adding an amp to a stock stereo

What about instead of running a jumper wire, that can cause problems, how about a switched +12 source, or even run a +12v line to a switch, then to the amp??? Alot safer, and not ghetto...

Just like CustomLowz said, A Switch is the best way to go, sometime you dont feel like having you bass pumping so you could just switch off. On my system i have my wire running from Radio-->Switch-->amp.

A simple multimeter suggestion would have easily found the solution. Turn car on, "wire" recieves I think 3.5 or 5 volts (eh forgot the numbers).
