you could try something simple like Bass Blockers. Kinda like a crossover but you wire them inline between the HU and speakers. They come in different frequencies. Maybe try a 150/300 High pass on the fronts.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Distortion caused by sub.

It could be the bass reaching your fronts as we mentioned before. If you don't have crossover controls in your head unit, you really should have an active crossover. Bass Blockers (inline caps) will work, but are really not the ideal solution as they do have some sound integrity issues.
What kind of distortion are you referring to? Just a thought (as I can't actually hear it...), but you could possibly be turning it up loud enough that your ears are causing the distortion. It is not uncommon for people to think that there is bad sound at concerts when in reality they are just so close to the speakers that their hearing is in overload. It also could be that the acoustic waves from the subs could be interfering with the proper production of highs and mids. Again, it is very difficult to diagnose what a distortion noise is without hearing it.
Either way, it appears you have a pretty nice setup and when using multiple amps, you would be foolish to not take full advantage of them with a decent active crossover.
Here is a link to something like I am referring to. I don't know how good it is, but it will give you an idea of what I am talking about. With a bit of research, I am sure you will be able to find something that will suit your needs well for a reasonable price.

the distortion of the door speakers is most likely caused by having the bass too high. the internal amps on most HU's isnt the best thing ever made to drive speakers; i wouldnt even bother trying to power speakers with that, unless it were my only option. the loudness of your system, not just the bass level, will cause major distortion. the amp in the HU cannot effectively drive the speaker to the level of performance that you are asking it to give, so it distorts.
"aftermarket" speakers actually make it worse, since they are usually 50-70wRMS, and your HU only puts out like 20-25wRMS usually.
capacitor isnt going to do anything for the distortion. thats all the internal amp in the HU. also, for the dimming of the lights, the cap isn't going to be a good idea. sure, some people will sign their life off on the usefulness of a capicitor. and they should probably die.
capacitors work well for situations where not much extra juice is needed. if you listen to rap, however, the constant bass beats, and constant drain on the charging system (capacitor in addition to the battery, and constant voltage usage) will be greater once you get a capacitor, cause the alternator not only needs to charge the battery, and provide power to the vehicle, but also to provide power to recharge the capacitor.
basically, get a hi-output alternator, and forget about getting a capacitor.
