ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    front speakers under $30

picked up a 91 lx 2dr last week and i'm looking to fix / replace all the little things that are wrong with it. Does anyone have suggestions on what speakers I should use for the front that cost under $30?

i dont want to hear about speakers that cost more than $30 , just looking for advice on where to buy and what to buy.

    thanks!

go to walmart, and buy the cheapest 6.5" speakers you can find. OR you can try ebay. You wont get quality out of $30 speakers, so anything is better than nothing.

Not true. Go to BestBuy and pick up a set of Dual 6.5" speakers. They're $26+tax and they sound awesome. Only thing you'll have to do is drill the mounting holes yourself. Hondas use 3 screws in a triangle and these speakers only have the generic 4 screws in a square. Not hard to fix though :P

I have Wal-Mart/Roadmaster 6.5'' speakers in my rear deck, they were $20 for the pair. They sound pretty nice, but I want better. I only got them because my car did not have rear speakers when I bought it..

          this is pretty much impossible...
whatever you buy for that little amount of money won't sound too hot; and then once you've realized that what you've bought is no longer pleasing to your ears, (i.e., cheap speakers blowing out, poor highs/lows) you'd wish you had saved at least twenty more bones to get something somewhat decent.

well, i guess you're either an audiophile or you're not - and if you're not, you won't be able to distinguish between good and bad speakers. however, chances are that as you enhance your car's audio system, you will become an audiophile. then, that pair of $30 bargian speakers won't sound as sweet to your ears as they were on your wallet.

          just my two cents.

I have Pioneer TSP-164's new in box for $30 if you want those, great value. But obviously you won't get audiophile quality for speakers that cheap.

Yeah.... My advice is this. Save up and get the good stuff. Bear with it for a few months then about 300 bucks and get a couple of decent sets of speakers. Make sure you have the proper things needed to get them going. ex. I saved up and got Infinity Kappa Components which from Ulitmate Electronics were around 450 a pair. I went on E-bay with the model number and got the exact same thing for about 145. Of course these speakers are 2 Ohm and not 4 or 8 Ohm like many head units. Thus I had to get an amplifier to support them. But with those Infinity Kappas they deliver incredible highs and mids, but the bass is decent up to a certain volume. So I got subs to go with it. A cheap pair of Infinity Reference 1232W (300 RMS). They are awsome and I get compliments from everyone who rides in my car.
Save up and do the job right. You'll be much happier, I promise!
Been a long time. Still alive...
