It is amazing how things have changed over the past maybe 5-10 years with preference on sub size. Most everyone then was wanting something you could here 10 miles away with as many speakers and amps they could fit in the back. Now everyone is looking for clean and simple systems. Of course I think it most is from the fact that 10 years ago there was limited availability on aftermarket parts. In 1996 there were no euro/clear taillights. You might find a $250 strut bar from Hondasport for your honda. Even accords didn't have much available for them at that time. Oh well I still prefer as many 15's I can fit tho

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'm not sure about that one. I still see/hear alot of people that are all about having bass you can hear from a good distance away. It's stupid, because if you have it loud enough that it can be heard a couple hundred feet away, then it HAS to be bad to your hearing inside the car. I prefer 12's but have always ran 10's b/c of the price/deal I got on my system(like $30 for 2 subs and an amp w/boxes) I like a nice clean sound with alotta thump when you want it.Quote:

Yea I work at a local shop and we sell mostly 12's a few 10's and rarely a 15. Usually just one 12. I owned my own shop for 12 years and can remember alot of people when they come in didn't ask much about 10's or 8's they went straight to the 12's or 15"s and the biggest amp. You would get a few folks to ask about smaller subz if they were looking for the SQ more than DB level. I can go on and on but over the years I have seen things change alot with the automotive aftermarket business. But no complaints always been fun thats why I still do it
