ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I donno why people on here like 10's so much? a 12" is more efficient and extends deeper with a lot more ease (not always, just all things being equal).
Not sure if it was talked about, but i can't stress enough how important enclosure design is.
I always recommend sealed...the natural frequency roll off of this kind of box is directly compensated by the cabin gain of the car.
Ported is great though if you want LOUD. Just make sure if it's a cheap generic not properly built box, that you calculate it's tuning frequency and have a subsonic filter on your amp to cut off any frequencies below the boxes tuning freq.

thats also kinda funny that you say that you'd rather have something thats not even close to the same class. performance per dollar and per watt: i'm feeling that my nice little s12c's will outperform any RE sub.
you take a sub that has an RMS rating of 425 watts, and compare it to a sub that can handle (easily) 1600wRMS...apples to oranges. that's like saying a boosted cb7 is fast, but a LPE corvette will have better lap times..umm...DUH!
buy a sub today from RE that costs less than $300 MSRP and feed it less than 500wRMS and then come see who's sounds better an outperforms the other.Last edited by mondojackal; 07-30-2006, 08:29 PM.

for me i like bass. it depends on the wattage of a sub. why have 2 10's when you can run a larger single 12. For my cb, i am going to have only 1 12'', but its a MTX 9500 w/Sledgehammer Box I usually prefer 2 12's though94 DB8: SOLD
