ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Car Alarm or No Car Alarm

So I have been shopping around for car alarm system, and doing my research but am stuck on no auto start or auto start. So my question is can you put an auto start on a manual or no. I asked around but it spit, so I figured I would ask here with more experienced how da owners.

    The simple answer is yes.

The more detailed answer depends on the system. I installed my compustar remote start years ago when I was a noob. It was a really shitty install but it still worked flawlessly. I have since removed it and will probably upgrade in the near future

Yes you can put a remote start on a 5 speed all you need to do is by pass the clutch switch, but one thing you need to know and make sure you ALWAYS remember is NEVER leave it in gear when you park it because then the car will move forward trying to start until you shut it off or it crashes into someone of something, that's why it is not recommended .

I have a viper remote start installed on my 5 speed and it has happened to me which is why now I lend no one my car and I don't have the habit of leaving it in gear.

You don't have to bypass it. You use one the output signals from the brain to activate a relay which "presses" the switch automagically.

And most modern remote starts require some type of safety interlock or pattern for manual transmissions.

            I don't now

Since I start driving my manual only for a few weeks now, I haven't gotten into that habit. I have done it once or twice cuz a buddy said I should but I dont. Thanks big piece of advice on that one, don't need that.

              Thanks

Using a pin from the brain sounds cleaner, I'll be sure to make sure the tech I have do it does it that way. Not one for half fast wiring. Thanks again guys.
