ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Stock Bose amp cutting out?

I have a 93 SE and installed a sub, amp, and power cap. The stock radio was replaced with a Clarion long before I got the car. The sub works great, but I notice that my rear interior speakers get quiet when the sub is doing it's thing.

I noticed the original Bose amp in the back deck, and heard from an unconfirmed source that the Bose amp doesn't get along with other amps. Anyone ever have a similar problem?

The new setup is done right, it was checked and rechecked. As far as the Bose system, it looks factory installed.

Check my thread, to do an install with a Bose factory amp it is not just plug the adapter in and go. SMDH, it obviously is powering the amp on higher power than it needs. It's not done right, keep it up and the Bose amp will completely fry. I'm guessing you didn't read the thread in my signature. If you are powering that amp with anything other than pre-amps it is wrong. My bet is that your preamp outs go to your subwoofer amp, not the Bose.

Sorry about that, and no I didn't read your signature thread. We will check it out again. We have probably done three dozen head unit and sub/amp installs over the years, but never confronted a stock amp setup. Thanks a lot for the help, and sorry again.

Yeah, it was definitely not done right. If it was done right the stock amp should have been bypassed, IMO. It kind of defeats the purpose to replace the headunit, but keep the 20 year old stock amp powering the speakers. It should be removed from the car and replaced with a newer, better amp, or just run cable from the headunit to the speakers.
