Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Battery not charging issue

    Either swap out with a nother battery from another supplier or check your grounds and change altenators again.

      sounds like a simple fix

      Tell me what your voltage is comming directly off the "alternator". It should be 14v. at idle tell, me what the voltage is after 20 mins of idleing.

      I've gone through 5 brand spanking new alternators in 2 weeks, that all were bad right out of the box. You could sit their and watch the voltage drop.

        Perfect timing as I was just wanting to update this thread.

        It has taken a while to come back to this thread due to the fact that we have several cars and getting my dad's cb7 fixed was not as urgent as it could have been.

        I had also recently purchased the holy grail of CRX Delsols which my dad had wanted to drive for a while, so his cb7 took a back burner.

        Anyways my dad's cb has been fixed. It turned out to be the alternator. I know I mentioned having changed it but aparently the replacement turned out to also be faulty. It looks like our alternators can exhibit the above failure symptoms I mentioned.

        I got somewhat lost when i changed the alternator with what turned out to be an alternator with exactly the same fault symptoms leading me to suspect it must be the car rather than the alternator. That then led me on a wild goose chase.

        Funny thing is my dash charge or altenator warning light still doesnt light up upon turning the ignition to on position even though the system is now charging and fixed.

        I suspect a busted bulb which further compounded my problem. I will update once i have fixed or found the problem.

          Yes that is possible. Very unlikely and probabilities are slim but possible. I suggest having it checked by electrician prior to installation to minimise the chance of installing a faulty alternator and avoid wasting time and effort. It will come with a small minor fee to have it checked. Most probably wont esp if new out of the box.

          I had both my alternators checked by an electrician and confirmed faulty.

              ^^^ that is crazy, having 5 bad alternators. Where did they come from?

              Back on topic, glad you figured it out, but i recently had something similar happening on a 96 Prelude with a f22 (so it was basically very similar). It turned out to be some shade tree guy previously thought he had a short in that blk/ylw wire from the alternator. This guy had cut and spliced that wire going back into a wire going into the fuse box under the hood.
              To make a long story short, i just cut out the "splice", and put it back to the original wiring. Problem solved.
