ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

LED strips under the seats connecting to Dome light wire.

    Hey guys,
When I was testing my wires for the car alarm, I notice that the dome light wire is about 22 ga. I want to wire it with 4 LED light strips to come on together with the dome light, could this wire handle the light connections from the dome light and 4 LED strips?
So this way it will be brighter when I open the door and at the same time the strips will flash with my dome light when the alarm is set off. What do you guys think? Could this little wire handle it? If not what other options do I have?

    Thanks.

I would be concerned more about the draw from the factory incadesent then led strips. I would sugggest if you plan to use the strips, replace the dome light with an led too to keep the current draw down. Either that, or just to be safe, wire it up to a relay.

My dome light and courtesy bulbs are all LED and the trunk as well. The only bulbs not LED are my signals and brake as I don't want hyperflashes and brake lamp on in the dash. BTW, the dome light wire is the same as the all doors trigger.
        Thanks.

^ did u even bother to look at the group buy for bulbs in the 4sale section? Dual flux bulbs that r brighter than standard leds's and if u read it, shows u how to fix the hyper shit u don't want, friend.

I already read that. I also have the relay instead of doing all that. I just don't have the cash to do the blinker and brake bulbs right now.

I have done something like this in the past and had no problem. So i say go for it since everything else is LEDS. Pics when done.

                  OK. Ordered the strips.
Question guys, the key cylinder acc positions. Is ACC1=accessories and ACC2=ignition?

                  Thanks.

I did the LED conversion too. I have LEDs in my corner lights but not the bumper lights.
Also I did not use LEDs in the taillights
for that very reason, Hyper Flash/False Brake Light Warning.
But to get a better effect and a brighter red
I used a RED 1157 bulb. I bought some Nokya Hyper Red at my local stereo shop.
Big difference from a normal white/clear bulb.

How much were they? The car needs 4 and Ebay got them for $18 for the pair. It's like almost $40 for the set. Way too expensive.

Yup, I think i paid $8 a bulb, 36+tax. Was about $40, gotta pay to play.
After I seen Red bulbs in Red lenses.... other cb brake lights look pink to me.
Was just a thought.. was a mod that I did on my ride.

It seems the tail lights on the CB are very dim even with new bulbs. I guess the housings got cloudy over time? But they all seem clean and clear to me. I just want them brighter.

OK guys, I got the 4 LED strips. I got the wire all ready and set when I installed my alarm. Now, I need suggestions on where to put the LED strips so it will be bright when any door is open and when the alarm does go off flashing while LED madly.

                            Thanks.
