ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

It sounds like it's low current. You could use a simple resistor divider to divide 12 volts down to 5-7 volts. Place two 100 kiloohm resistors in series from 12 volts (unswitched, as you say) to ground. Tap the middle of the two resistors to get 6 volts. Note that this will drain a constant 60 microamps (0.00006 amperes), so you may want to bump it up to something like 500 kiloohms. This isn't a very good solution, but so long as the cluster doesn't draw much current from this source, it should work fine.

a low voltage is all i can think of with this mod

when i drive around and acumulate mileage it all works good but about 10 seconds after i turn the car off i have no trip anymore and i dont want the cluster to stay on i just want it to retain its memory of what trip it had

when i look at the wireing diagram all i see are
im just looking on how to keep the trip odom from zeroing out

btw found out this is a euro cluster and mainly just the 98/99 model but the theroy is juts the same

what im looking at is the 2 ign controls on the CG and since the wireing schem only has one ign for the CB

The only spot to get 5v is at the ecu. You can buy a 5v regulator and wire it up but that won't solve your problem.

Your problem is you did not wire the cluster power properly.

Wire a 3 pin 5v regulator from radioshack into your battery constant and the output pin to the 5v input, or use resistors, but resistors heat up so insulate them well and place somewhere for easy access later.
