ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

whats the best set up for noise and space

What is the best set up for the 4door I was thinking something like 2 12s and a 1000w amp I want the most noise I can get but to still leave lots af room in the trunk

im pretty sure you have to get a good box for decent bass. I remember i had a very small box that was less than a foot to save space and it did the job. But when i got a better box, it pounded alot better. So you're going to have to sacrifice some space. I'm no audio expert though, so I'll leave it to them.

Thats difficult to really say, everybody has there own opinions on what is best. Everybody also has there own opinion on what is loudest vs what size speaker vs brand vs amps, etc. IDK, I had 2 10's and my shit throbbed and I had a grip of trunk space left. Its not always the size of the sub but more the quality and the amp and box and whatnot.

You know personally, i've always thought that a 10" sub with a 500w amp was the perfect setup. it's great on saving room in the trunk. You'll keep your hearing longer vs two 12" subs and it's cheaper. Most importantly, you neighbors will appreciate they're car alarms not going off... But then I got into touge's and said fuck music

i had most of my trunk space left over using a kenwood dual 10" bandpass box retrofitted with 800w single voice coil pioneer sub's with 1500w rms pushing them very very loud could easily hear the car 100 yards away had to remove my wing on the trunk keept getting lose n vibrating too much, i still had enough room left in the trunk to put a full size stroler or 300 bucks worth of groceries in there with the amp mounted on the back of the rear seat, ive built alot of systems over the past IMO seald boxes produce the cleanest sound clarity but u need lots of good power to make it play loud but its worth it ! good luck happy bassin

Ya most the time I have the radio turned down so I can listen to the car love that sound but I also have no subs and only two speakers work and they are blown so I just want something I can bump now and then when that song comes on

understandable bro, I recommend you never ever ever buy subs/amps from Walmart. lol it's kind of like buying that kind of shit on ebay. You get what you pay for.

To save the most space, your going to want to used a sealed box. I would say get the speakers you want and can afford, look up the cu/ft space requirement that particular speaker/sub, then build a box to fit your space in the trunk that gives the speakers/subs the space they need.

I have one JL 12w1 in my cb with a custom sealed box (I got the stereo to keep my ass awake while I moved from seattle to houston), while retaining as much trunk space as possible. If I drop the backseat down the bass is perfect, but if I want the seat up, I think I need/want another 12w1 (or port my trunk into the cabin). My amp is rated at 300w rms @ 4ohm, and 500w rms @ 2ohm if I remember correctly. Oh don't buy any alpine type-e subs, I went through two of them in a week, I kept delaminating the coils, a fosgate wouldn't fit in my box (that they made for the type-e), so they gave me the JL instead. I am very happy with my JL, that I got for the price of a type-e.

A really good sub is the Alpine type-r they now have the shallow subs so they save space something you might want to check out

Oh don't forget to buy some dynomat (or equivalent insulation) if you can, as your going to want to dynomat your entire trunk lid, and the license plate at the minimum.

Otherwise your trunk will rattle and sound like shit (especially from outside the car).

Thanks remix I saw the shallows but I didn't know if they would sound as good as some regular size subs and cloud I totally forgot about some sound damping I would have looked over that idea

I've got a kicker solo classic 15 in a sealed box and it really doesn't take up that much room. the box sizes those solo classics are designed to fit in and still work are really small imo.

I got just one small 10inch sub that has 1000rms and doesnt really take up alot of space. And my amp is mounted to the back of my seats so i have tons of space in the trunk
