ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

trying to find the best dvd/cd head unit

havent been able to find any good units that im willing to part my money for found a couple that are jvc and blaukpunt for a good price but dont know if its worth it i have a soundstream now and dvds do not play right especially with my JLs rattling the #*% out of it anyone out there know what head unit will handle playing cd/dvds without skipping/cutting out with ALOT of bass

A good Kenwood, Pioneer or Alpine would probably be your best bet. Of course that comes with a price. IDK, I ditched CD's a long time ago, iPod is the way to go. Don't have to worry about anything skipping.

If your thinking of upgrading anyway... I agree.. Go iPod ready.. If you still want to stick with a cd unit... Pioneer is the way to go... My 2 c

Yeah I'm so MP3 that I bought a HU that doesn't even play CD's at all, no slot or nothing. Strickly iPod controlled. CD's are wack, they scratch and skip and take up way too much space.

Alpine is the only headunit I use. Never had issues with them at all and I have had about 9 or so. Although I don't personally own an iPod nor will I, that is a good idea. I use my Droid with my current Alpine uses a USB mount on the back and it work great. Here is the one:

i'm a firm believer in alpine and pioneers for headunits.

for dvd's , id say pioneer prolly has my favorite unit. i ran an avh-p4100dvd in my scion for almost 3 years. and i regret selling it to t his day, and they can be had for a good price now that they are an older model. then theres the 4200 and the 4300 (the current model) which are upgrades and are also extremely good units.

plus they have the usb drive that you can play music off of a thumb drive or ipod, and you can play video through ipods on those units as well

Panasonic, Pioneer, Alpine, and Kenwood are my suggestions. Sony isn't bad but I have had issues with past Sonys. Kenwood makes awesome indash DVD players.

See the link I posted above. There are cheaper ones out there than the Alpine I bought. Look on Crutchfield and pick one. There are plenty.
