ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

    Power Acoustic Amps any good??

I had never heard of this brand up till now that im lookin to get a decent amp on a budget. First off i was wondering if this brand really puts out what it announces bc for the price it seems alittle too good to be true. I was looking to get the CPT1-2000 Mono Block to push either 2 Kenwood KFC-W3012 12" or a single TS-W3002D4 12". Any body have any expirience with either of these Subs, They any good??

They have been around for quite some time. I cant speak for the current line, but about 10 years ago they were a Wal-mart type brand, definitly didnt put out the declared power.

Like I said, that was 10 years ago, they might be a good company now. I would pick SPLCB7's brain on this subject.

They'll do what you need. You really don't need a high end amp for those subs.

I have the Power Acoustik A1800db amp. Its rated to do 1400 rms at 2ohms but it doesnt. Power Acoustik is known for over-rating their amps. Although i have heard that the BAMF series and STAX series do pretty good. But in all there are really good amps for the price.

Id say staxs are good....only becuse you can stack them if your not getting the power you want....but the kenwood subs dont need that much power to run them....id focus on the subs box before id pick out an amp.....smaller the box the more power the bigger the box the less power you need for them....if you get an box built to spec the rms range on those subs should be dead on and youll get the best sound out of them....when you pick out your amp look at the rms not the max....you never run max unless its an burp.....even then they dont hit max...

One thing about this amp it isnt CEA-2006 Compliant approve so basically its not giving out true power at 14.4 volts but the price is good to run door speakers ... I wouldnt waste my time setting up an 4channel amp to run two subs just get a mono or a two channel amp like hifoincs alpine kenwood crunch im sure theres other good brands out there that was just some I knew you can find for a good price and to push whats its rated ......

And for that Power Acoustik when you open the box look at the birth certificate

PA isn't a bad company at all. I've had several of their amps and they worked great without any faults. Personally, I use Boston Acoustics or Infinity equipment. I'd say, for your particular idea, use that amp with the one sub. The one 12" sub would do you good.

Thanks guys. I think I am gunna run just the single TS-W3002D4 with this amp. A friend of mine was running 2 of these 12's off a Hifonics Brutus and they Slammed. I dont want crazy Bass I just wanna be able to feel it alittle bit. Not looking to get Back massages everytime the Bass hits

The TS-W3002D4 is rated 1000rms so it should do the job. Now do you guys think I should go Sealed or Ported on the box???

Thanks bro, I was thinking ported too!!!

Box preference is really opinionated. Some people like sealed boxes and some like ported. Here is a link to that sub I just Googled.

                          http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...S-W3002D4.html

Click the features and specs tab and look at the different box volumes; then find one in that range. I have found that you can use less wattage with a ported box and it will sound good.

It's all really in what you are looking for. My new setup will only be a 10" in a ported enclosure. Here is an enclosure for you:

Can 10's push air?? I dont know much about car audio but from what ive read they say the bigger the diameter of the cone the harder they hit?? I might look into them instead if they can also bang. More trunk space

Too many factors to accurately answer that. Surface area, wattage, box type, trunk space, placement of box, etc. You can find a 10" that can hit as hard and/or even harder than a 12". Two 10" subs will hit harder than one 12". It's because of the surface area of the subs.

I only want one 10" because I want to feel the bass; not hear it.
