New to audio systems, which amplifier should i use?

Hey everyone! I really need help with my audio sound system. I've purchased parts but I need to know what amp/amps to get that will allow me to use these products that ive purchased, at their full value! This is my first mod, so please help me out, all is appreciated! All of my products are made by sony, they may not be the best, although they are just to start off.

    + Head Unit:
Sony Xplod CDX-GT55UIW Car CD Receiver(green illumination, the one in the link is the GT550UI, i believe they are the same?)
    -Link: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langI d=-1&productId=8198552921666240163#additionalImage1 "

    + Front speakers(on door): Sony Xplod XS-R1644 6-1/2" 4-Way Speakers
    -Link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Xplod...akers/14956456

    + Rear speakers(behind back seats/near rear window):
    -Link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Xplod...akers/14956457

    + Subwoofers(I HAVE 2 OF THESE!): Sony Xplod XS-GTX120LW 12" Car Subwoofer
    -Link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Xplod...er/12016333#rr
-Enclosure: (I took 2 of these and drilled them together) Scosche 12" Subwoofer Enclosure
    -LINK FOR ENCLOSURE: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Scosche-12...osure/14667133

+Now all I need to know is which amp/amps to buy for it and the wiring kit! Someone please help me with both? Oh and I was told to buy a 2 and a 4 channel amp, although someone else told me that i only need a 2 and another said I only need a 4? I'm confused and I want everything that I put in(everything above) to be at its top peak(without breaking).

+What wiring kit should I buy?!

+I also saw my friends trunk shaking badly, is there anything I could put under the subs or anything i could put in the trunk itself thats cheap, but will prevent the shaking? I dont want to have to buy a new trunk!

Thank you all for your future help in answering my questions, and I hope to make my cb7 as nice as yours, good luck with your cars aswell!

You just need an 2 chan amp and an 4 chan amp....or you could get away with just the 2 chan amp for the subs and run the rest off the deck....its your call really but since everything else is sony id go with sony amps two.....

you can probably get away with a 2 channel or monoblock amp, and just drive your speakers on the head units power (you'll be underpowered but not terribly)

something like these would be a pretty good fit for powering your subs:
          1
          2
          3

all of those amps offer 6-700 watts rms at 2ohms on one channel.
if you parallel your 2 12's together (4 ohm each) you'll be pulling a 2ohm impedance and will need about 700watts rms to push both of them, so these options seem really good.

Reasonably price, and best of all , option num 3 is an xplod amp so you can match everything up if you want

If you DO want to power the the 4 speakers, youd either need 2 amps, 4 chan and mono or 2 chan, or a single 5 channel amp. or you could possibly take a 4 channel and power the front 2 subs on the amp the rear 2 on the head unit, and the subs on the 2 free channels.

Hopeless is right, you can use only an amp for your subs. i would start with that and see how it sounds. id go 2-channel since IMO its the easiest to shop for with your setup, and Hopeless did just give you 3 options. You probably can go with walmart's two channel sony amp, but i would only consider that a temporary amp because its RMS rating is lower than your subs RMS. And im pretty sure you know this but when looking for an amp, look for one with the same RMS per channel, and the same ohm rating to make sure it works properly.

Hopeless pretty much nailed it. This is your first setup. I would say run the speakers off the head unit, and buy a sony monoblock amp for the subs. You would need an amplifier wiring kit of course. I recommend a 4 gauge amp kit if you decide you want more in the future.

i would say go 2 seperate amps. 4 channel with 2 channel setup. its easier to manage each amp seperately, especially if one goes bad, and i heard 5 channel amps arent as reliable. and ohms means resistance, the lower the ohms, the lower the resistance. just buy one of the amps that hopeless listed and you should be good. my suggestion would be to hook that system up, THEN if you feel your bass over powers your highs, get a 4 channel, if not, then your good. its really about how much you enjoy your setup, more than what you have powering them.

so i decided to go with hopeless's 2nd option(2nd link) the jvc and just test it out and if my bass is overpowering my highs ill get the 4channel like you said lilg4mdalbc but let me ask you this. If im going to buy the 2 12' subs they each have 350w of rpm shouldnt i buy a better mono then the 700w jvc? because isnt that just making it because with 2 12" itll be 700w of rpm and im buying the 700w jvc isnt that bad and i should buy a more watted amp or will the 700w jvc be enough and wont over heat? if i buy the jvc what type of wiring kit should i buy for the whole system because you recommended just hookin up the 4 speakers to the headunit even though itll sound just a tad under.

i would just stick to the monoblock amp for now while you're entry level.

set up your door speakers running to the stock head unit first. if youre unhappy with the sound then we can start looking at upgrade options.

I personally will never run a 5 channel amp, because its unfriendly for future upgrading. if anything id recommend running a mono and a 2 or 4 channel to power your speakers (2 channel you can power your front speakers and let the head unit power your rears)

My personal preference for powering speakers is using an alpine head unit with Alpines plug and play powerpack
