ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

did you do all your wiring?... you could possibly have a bad connection from the headunit to possibly an amp or straight to all your speakers

wel there's no system in..all i have installed has been the headunit..the headunit works perfectly fine minus there being no sound coming out of the speakers..:/

Headunit failure is more likely than simultaneous 4x speaker failure

How do you know the HU works fine? Have you tested it w/other speakers?

We need some pics of the hook up too.

I will bet money one of your speaker wires is grounding out somewhere. Did you try turning it on again?

ok so what was wierd is that when i got in my car today (i haven't had the time to check my HU, etc.) as soon as i turned my key for the power the radio turned on and the speakers worked for like 3 secs then it went silent again..would it be a ground issue??

It does sound like something is grounding out. Your best bet is to remove the deck and rewire it.

One of your speakers could be grounding out causing the deck to go into protect mode. If you have a digital vot meter, set it to continuity, put the black probe on ground, and with the headunit unplugged check all the speaker wires with the red probe. If your meter beeps, you've found the bad speaker, or speaker wire.

If you don't get continuity on any wires, set the meter to Ohms and make sure all your speakers are around 4Ohms.

i would say to check all the speaker wiring see if there in snug and not touching any metal and then take the head unit out and check the wires as well as the antenna. smell it to if it smells burnt if yeah then you blew a fuse but then the radio wouldnt work. but thats just to take some steps for process of elemination. you know?

The very same thing happened with my friends 93 cb7.

I found out that he had a ground problem with his front speakers grounding out cause they where mounted directly to the metal door with out the plastic factory pods.

That is definitely true. I had a Kenwood that did that because one of the wires on my rear 6x9 was touching some metal. Usually (if u have a decent deck) the deck will tell u its going into protect mode so atleast u know what the hell is going on. But sometimes not so that may be your problem.

Check continuity first. Otherwise the problem may be that your headunit's internal amp is failing.

Unplug all the speakers and test them one by one until the hu cuts out.
