ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    speaker size

hi guys, i keep finding different answers and sizes for the front speakers of a 1993 Accord SE ( bose system )

Does anyone know the size for the fronts? i know the backs are 6X9's

i want to replace the fronts because they sound muffled and seemed damaged. from when i bought it.

( the right speaker seems fine but the left side one is so quiet, it irritates me when i drive cuz i csn only hear the sound from behind and from the right. and my left ear hears nothing. IT HURTS LOL )

please someone tell me the correct size! ahha :P

and any tips when working with the front speakers. thanks guys. i love you all!

oh and btw. i did get a new deck installed. does anyone know how to get rid of the hissing sound? or static. when no song is being played/quiet. or anyway to recude the hissing. thanks!

    ( kenwood Cd deck )
Using factory installed Bose Amp - is this causing the hiss?
    Using Infinity 6X9 rear speakers
Using stock bose speakers ( front) - wanting to replace

Hissing can probably be corrected by grounding your head unit better.

U know the size of front speakers varies a bit. I had an LX with 6" fronts. But I've also owned 2 EX's with small ass 4" or 5.5" or some shit in it. Best thing to do is pull the panel off the front door and look in there. U really don't even need to completely pull it off, just get behind the panel right by the speaker and pull it out. Its held in (atleast right there at that point) with a couple of clips that u can pop in or out. Just pull it out right there and look up in there.

The hissing sound comes from the amp, the factory unit must use a filter, if you can figure out what wire needs it you could add one in.

bose.... no comment. bypass the bose system. once you have done that no hissing sound should be there. sooner or later the bose system will give out. bypassing it will save u future headaches. as far as speaker size i would say 4inch. i personally have a 91 se. and its 4 inch. bose likes to use small speakers and pump em up. take apart the door panels. it will save you alot of guessing time.
