I recommend a nice 5 channel amp for power and simplicity.

Components for the front, 6.5 coaxials for the rear...hell 6x9's would work too. They should be crossed over anyway. With the front speakers the woofer may be too deep so you would need to get/make spacers for them. My favorite speakers so far would be Hertz, but I only heard them on a sound board.

Sub can be one 12" that does well in small sealed boxes about 1 cu. ft. If that's too big, two 10's can work too.

HU should be a mid level model pioneer/alpine/eclipse maybe kenwood with 3 RCA outs and crossover features.

1/2 ohm stable? That alone makes it worth it, shit. I don't think there are any component speakers that come lower than 4 ohms though, no?

Well, considering I'm nowhere near the same "audiophile" status as those above me, my question goes back to sonikaccord: as far as the Dynamat in the wheel wells goes (which makes sense haha), where would it be placed? Behind the wheels?....

For the front, I'd pull the carpet and 'mat the floor and firewall so it blocks the tire AND engine noise better. (Not to mention if you don't have that shit clean and the matting falls down while you're driiving. THAT could be a hzard and a mess.)
I've only got my trunk lid done in uzume, but that alone made a HUGE difference in how much sound escapes the car. I was surprised at how well these cars are already insulated for sound. The wife gets paranoid about bumping at lights and being rude to people around us, when the music is below conversational level; it's not even vibrating the third eye against the glass. I'm going to make her sit in her car one day, park next to her and start turing it up until she can hear it, then let her get back in my car and realize that those hundreds of times she's turned it down, it was for no reason.

So that's the right way to deaden the front wheel wells. I wonder if some MLV can also go under that cover. I have Blizzak front tires and although I love how they go through the snow (wagon goes right through piles my sedan got stuck in) they freaking scream when you're driving on dry roads. Grippy as can be.
