ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Amp problems

I had my subs kicking perfectly with my 300w amplifier. My sisters boyfriend was selling his car and said I can swap the amps if I wanted too. I swapped them out before he sold his car and tried to hook it up to mine about a week later. The amp keeps going into "protection" mode. I know for a fact that the amp was working when it was in his car. I checked all the fuses and they were good. The amp is a Duval vector vt-904. Any ideas on what is happening here?

I'm too lazy to look up the amp, can you find a link to its specs?

My guess is you're running it into too low of a resistance.

Wish I could find info on it! I've google searched it so hard and can't find one thing on it. I'm a complete newbie to audio so I have no idea what you mean by running it into too low of a resistance.

unhook everything and turn the amp on and see if it goes into protect

everything means rca(s) and speaker(s), not power, remote or ground lol

        YouTube Clicky!!

what hes talking about is the ohm rating, say u have 2 subs that r rated at 2ohms each (single voice cole) and the amp is rated to only 2ohm bridge and 4ohm x 2 and say u have it bridged to one channel so that puts the subs at 1ohm and the amp is only pushing at 2ohms which in turn will cause the amp to clip (not saying this is how u have it hooked up but this is what he was talking about)

i have a like clue in this im running 4 subs with this amp

That might be my exact problem! I had my brother in law hook it up since he knows a bit more about me and he did bridge them.
